Santorum, promises on porn

Again I must voice how crazy this guy is......A fine opinion or stance if he was running for pope or bishop but for the leader of the free world ??
There must be more universal topics that concern everyone.
This guy already lost all the male vote with that comment. Is he trying to cause the collapse of the internet? LOL !!!!!
Would be interesting if someone hacked his computer and browsed his internet history, bet there is some nasty shit in there. Is always the case when people are so outspoken against something.

Santorum renews promise to root out obscene pornography

Rick Santorum doubled down Sunday on a campaign promise to crack down on the distribution of explicit pornography if elected president, saying exposure to the content "can be very damaging."
A position paper on Santorum's campaign website argues that current obscenity laws already prohibit the distribution of "hardcore (obscene) pornography," and that the Obama administration has failed to enforce these restrictions. As president, Santorum says he would instruct his attorney general to prosecute those who distribute content his administration deems "obscene."
"We would, of course, as president enforce those laws, because obviously Congress in its wisdom understood that hardcore pornography is very damaging, particularly to young people, and that exposure on the Internet can be very damaging," Santorum said during an interview on ABC's "This Week." "There are laws against purveying hard-core pornography. And that--we have attorney generals in the country, at least under the Bush administration, who did prosecute that. And this administration isn't. And I simply said I would follow the law, which I know in the case of Barack Obama can be somewhat of a hefty challenge for him, but we're going to do it as president."

Well he didn't do himself any favors by going to Puerto Rico and telling them that he would like to see them become the 51st State, but that English would have to be the offical language..... He did try and back pedal, big time fail! He as well as the rest of these politicians will say and do anything that gets them what they want, reach back and pull the handle this election, flush all of them down the toilet. I wish that one day we could make the House and Senate like it was, serve a term or two but keep your day job because you will only be in session 3-4 months out of the year, and as such you only are getting paid for those days, and a term limit of 2 years. No more big salaries, no more fat pensions with better insurance than anyone else can get, no more hanging out in Washinton DC with a staff of 100+ when they aren't needed. When will we make it all stop? I'm done ranting, I just had to get it out of my system......

This guy gets on my nerves more and more everyday. It pisses me off that the conservative party can't produce a candidate worth a flying fuck. IMHO, BHO is almost a shoe-in.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

If they (the Republican candidates) just sit back, shut up and let BO continue to put his foot in his own mouth (remember, he does a fine job of that himself) they'll win no problem.

You could almost put a log up there with an elephant pinned to it. The only way the Republicans don't win this election in a landslide is by talking the American public out of it, seriously.

I don't think a Republican loss is garunteed, but they sure haven't helped themselves. Everytime they pander to the far right in one of these primaries, they loose more and more moderate votes. Santorum speaking out about porn is just the latest example.

Ron Paul is a bit extreme, but Santorum makes him look centrist on social issues.

You guys put far too much weight on primary commentary. None of this matters after it's one on one for the Presidency.

It's the Republican's to lose. The President cannot run on his own record, he can only hope the stupidity continues on the part of his opponents so he can attack there. That said, it's very difficult for any sitting President to NOT run on his own record.

Again, if they would just shut up, it's in the bag.

Obama will win. Republicans this time around have a bunch of loonies; mouth open or shut.

Except for Ron Paul of course :-)

Like I said, the only way Obama wins is if the Republican candidate REALLY messes up AFTER the primaries. No one cares about the primaries after the selection is made.

Like I said, everyone is making far too big a deal over things that are said right now. Do you guys remember how badly Hillary and Obama went after it in '08? Didn't seem to hurt BO much...the incumbents are in big trouble this time round. In all parties.

I won't get into the republican vs. democrat thing on this. Both sides have said some equally dumb things on the subject. Bottom line, if someone likes watching people blowing donkeys then who am I to tell them they can't watch it. Seriously with all the fucked up things in this country with the economy etc, Santorum and his ilk are gonna go ape shit over porn and make it an issue? This is why I don't vote.

You guys are delusional if you ever seriously thought a republican candidate will win the house next year. Just because all republicans are force fed fox news and believe that Obama is doing a horrible job, doesnt make it so. I know its hard to admit that a non republican can do a good job.

How many of you remember the campaign rhetoric between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama?............................................ .........Exactly...even if you're paying attention the issues of the primary campaign are vastly different that what they will be come August. I think the main reason we're getting so much of the Republican rhetoric is precisely that the current occupant of the White House can't possibly run on his record and be re-elected! The majority of the news media is in the tank for him and they HAVE to try and poison the well for all the Republicans in hopes of diverting the peoples attention from the truth of how inept and damaging Obama's term has been! I said it before and I'll say it again...This guy is making Jimmy carter look good!

Rick Santorum is basically a good man. He's way too hung up on social issues and that has cost him everywhere but in areas where the Evangilical vote dominates...his rhetoric has been hard and somewhat damaging...but he's already back peddled and stated he'd be willing to be Romney's running mate!
The Republican party will be united and I expect them to put up a campaign designed to win...I expect they will...they have my vote whoever their nominee is.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!
