He wouldn't dare try to do that on MLK day. Italian and Polish people should cry racism.

Wendy's knocks BK out of 2nd place among burger chains

Associated Press

12:07 p.m. CDT, March 19, 2012
Wendy's has dethroned Burger King as the country's second biggest hamburger chain.

Wendy's edged out Burger King in U.S. sales volume for the first time last year since Wendy's was founded in 1969, according to a report by the food industry research firm Technomic Inc. that's set to be released next month.

Wendy's had sales of $8.5 billion in 2011, compared with $8.4 billion for Burger King. McDonald's remained far larger than both with $34.2 billion in sales.

I knew good things were coming when they introduced the "W" burger that is similar to an in-n-out in some ways, mmmmm good stuff

Burger King's "new and improved" fries are horrible. I dig Wendy's new sea salt fries.

Oh no! Emmanuel wants Italian kids in school on Columbus day and Polish kids in school on Pulaski Day? Holy shit, what's next? Making Irish kids go to school on St. Patrick's Day? Mexican kids on Cinco de Mayo? Gay kids on St. Gaga's Day? When is this racism going to end? As for that other comment about MLK day, it's a non-issue, since black kids don't actually go to school.

If we're gonna be racist around here, go full throttle.

Who cares about the covert racism or the feelings of the last white non Jewish ethnics in Chcago or even about the students...Bet a dollar to a doughnut this issue gets BIG play because the teachers and other CPS union employees are going to have to give up TWO paid holidays!

And yes...if extending the school year by 10 days is a good enough reason for Columbus Day and Pulaski Day to not be observed with a school holiday, it's good enough reason to require kids to be in class on MLK day. Why not include Lincoln's Birthday and Veterans day too?...I'll tell you why...........................Because Emanual knows he can get away with shitting on the Poles and Italians but doesn't have the stones to take on the Blacks, Veterans and the State which is the "Land of Lincoln".

He just might have another thing coming...The Poles and Italians have more clout than he must think they do!

Which would be interesting to see if Sposato or Fioretti run for mayor in 2015.

I like Sposato. I don't know him well but I know his family. I worked with his brother for years. He is my Alderman and I supported him. I think I may have been re-mapped out of his ward but I'm being courted big time to pull a Dem ballot and vote for his opponant. He is running for commiteeman of the ward now. You wouldn't believe how the old alderman's organization is putting on a full court press to stop that from happening! It's almost amusing to see all the suburban dwellers from Elmwood Park telling me I should vote for his opponant and they don't even live in the city!

EDIT: Sposato CLOBBERED the old guard Emanual backed candidate for 36th Ward Commiteeman with 71% of the almost 7000 votes cast...almost a 3 to 1 margin. Seems Mayor Emanual doesn't come close to having the 36th Ward in his pocket! A Ward with a BIG Italian and Polish population. He better think twice about whose ethnic heroes he wants to minimize!
