You mad BRO

it be awesome if i was part of history and vote the first half black guy into office. And his CHANGE slogan, fawking awesome. Oh, and Oprah loves him too. And white women love Oprah, so I can't go wrong there. And Obama didn't do shit while he was in Illinois, but I'll give him a 2nd chance. And I'll blame Bush for the mistakes he did, that makes it hard for Obama to fix.

it's pointless anyway, Barry is going to win re-election. There's too many poor, uneducated, fags, women and illegals who;s going to vote for him.

If it was up to me I'd pass a law requiring at least a high school education AND a job in order to vote.

im not to sure about that man - i think the silent majority will vote aginst him - look at gas prices, unemployment - no incumbant has won when going into the polls tied or unemployment this high - we have to bet that history will repeat itself.

Yes, and I'm one of them. Getting rid of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and refusing to waste more taxpayer money supporting the "Defense of Marriage Act", starting down the road to real health care access for all; ending the war in Iraq; supporting a woman's right to control her own body; and a bunch more stuff is good enough for me.

Money isn't everything, and it's not the only thing.

so you're a mexican lesbian high school drop out on welfare. Did I sum it up right?

Obama is one of the reason I got out of the Army. I'll go back in once we get a real commander in chief. And when they official bar fags from enlisting.

Well, you might as well go back to where you came from, then. The US was the LAST western military to ban gays. The new rule will not change.

Sitting out an election is letting others make your choices for you. I'm too much of a control freak to do that.

As far as this election, my choice is already made. Given the two party's positions on social matters, Its not a hard decision.

As far as the financial stuff, the line we are getting from the GOP and Romney isn't credible. The GOP have a 32 year history of cutting taxes and running ultra-huge deficits - which are responsible for the majority of the current National Debt. I don't think the GOP will be fiscally responsible anytime in the next 20 years. The GOP claims to be a fiscally responsible party are laughable.

Not that the dems are that much better with finances, but like with retirement savings, small savings add up over time. And the last time we had a surplus, it was a dem in charge.

Craig

Haha nice! So, out of curiosity, why shouldn't gays be allowed to enlist? Are they too weak, too nicely dressed for combat, always wanting that ass of yours, or keep too neat of a tent? What's the real reason? I just can't think of a decent reason even if I was on an anti gay side.

Were you ever in the military?

Funny story: Basic Training, Ft. Jackson SC, 1992. After morning PT is when we'd head back to the barracks to shit, shower, and shave before breakfast. After several weeks into our cycle a few guys in our platoon started noticing a certain guy that would loiter in the shower watching everyone. Well, one day this guy must have gotten a little too turned on as he popped wood, in the shower, with 9 other naked dudes. Guess what happened that night after the Drill Sergeant put us to bed. That poor fuck got the shit beat out of him.

I'm not against gays in the military or in general. I really hate people being classified into one group or the other. But, there needs to be more thought put into the logistics of this because of the very close quarters and very little privacy afforded to you in the military. Nothing like taking a shit while your buddy sits on the can across from you (with no doors, walls, anything between you). Not everyone can control themselves, like the dude I mentioned above, and those cases will always be met with a tough, sometimes brutal, peer punishment. Hell, if we are going ignore sexuality in the military we ought to ignore gender as well and have co-ed showers, bathrooms, and barracks. What's the difference? Do you think a female solider would be offended if some dude was in the shower staring at her with a hard-on? Talk about the best way to divide what is supposed to be a cohesive fighting force.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

....Abraham Lincoln

Nope, never was, which is why I asked. I guess I never thought of that situation. Damn.

Note to self: When in military group showers never ever think about your woman too much or expect a severe beating later on.

Not one politician in the last 50+ years has gotten elected to anything by telling the truth.
They all lie. Politicians from around here are somewhat worse I think.
It's going to come down to who you GUESS is lying to you the least.

The American political machine is broken and no-one wants to fix it. No-one.
CHANGE is not coming anytime soon, doesn't really matter who gets elected they're all going to stay relatively centrist to try to stay in power.
Anyone drifting to far left or right won't be back in the next election.

since someone deleted my post, let me try to re-respond to this

It's call TRADITION. You don't change something you do for 200+ year because some queer wants to serve his country. I have nothing against fags since my brother is gay. They just don't belong in the military. They can serve other ways. Military is different than other 'jobs'.
