Any why do we give them food aid?

North Korea claimed on Tuesday that it has deployed "strategic rocket forces" that are able to strike targets in the continental US.

Pyongyang's declaration comes two days after the South Korean government signed an upgraded defence pact with Washington that permits it to develop conventional missiles with a range of 497 miles.

The increased range will enable South Korean missiles to hit targets anywhere in North Korea, although it has provoked anger in both Pyongyang and Beijing, the North's only major international ally.

On Monday, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry told a press briefing that Beijing does not want "an escalated military confrontation" in the region and that disputes need to be settled through dialogue.

Quoted by the Korean Central News Agency, the official mouthpiece of the regime, a spokesman for the National Defence Commission said on Tuesday that North Korea is ready to match any enemy, "nuclear for nuclear, missile for missile."

because we want to appear to be a kinder nation, and willing to help the enemy by "understanding their plight"

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

Because seeing thousands of people starve to death because of the actions of an insane dictatorship offends us?

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Jesse Ventura was on Piers Morgan a couple of nights ago saying that for all these countries that we send aid to who want us gone (or dead), that we should stop sending them aid and pull our embassies and military bases out of there. I can't agree more. I liken that to feeding a dog that continuously wants to attack you.

Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

Do we even give North Korea aid any more?

I thought that dropped off significantly since 2008, when Barry O took office.

It a tug of war. They promise to behave, we reward them with food. Then when they misbehave, we stop the aid.

We fall for it every time.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...you can't get fooled again.

What we need is for Barry to say "fudge 'em" and take away his check book.
