How did you come across this? Are crazy bills like that introduced all the time that the media does not bother reporting on it or does this just play into the stereotypical liberal media playbook?

Bah - ridiculous amendments, even constitutional amendments, are proposed all the time. No idea why Congress-critters love to waste their time like this, when they could be focusing on real issues (*GASP* Imagine that).

Zero need for concern.

^This.

Happens all the time, twenty-three times in the past couple decades to be exact, or at least as exact Snopes is:

Quote:
In the several decades since the passage of the 22nd Amendment, various members of Congress have offered proposals for repealing it (all, obviously, without success), twenty-three of them in the last two decades alone.

So a congressman can say, "I proposed XYZ bills in the past ___ years."?

?? I honestly have no idea.

I'd argue that there are far better things for us to be concerned about at this time. Constitutional Amendments are extremely non-trivial matters and difficult to pass, since they must muster greater support than normal legislation.

Again, why are Congress-critters wasting their time with nonsense? Beats me... but that's what happens. Unfortunately, this sort of practice is old... preceeding our lifetimes.

I agree it is ridiculous someone has even put it on the table, but like Bek said is is very very difficult to amend the Constituion. Congress alone can't do it. So I would worry about it.

They need to create an amendment that imposes a consequence for introducing frivolous amendments. Let say for each stupid proposal they would lose 1 months pension pay.

That or a blow to the head or a

Remember these are our elected officials.

I'd like to see something like this in our court system too. After being in D court for 4+ years over BS I'm ready for a change.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
