Grandparents/Parents stealing from their kids....

Whether you are Dem or Rep I think this is something that should concern us the most right now. This issue is being covered up with all the political back and forth on budgets/taxes, and attack on guns. If you are not going to retire in the next 5 years you're going go broke paying for the previous generation that guaranteed themselves the majority of your earnings. This is from someone with some of the best foresight we have ever seen. His vision and track record has been incredible

We recently started to reevaluate our retirement plan/outlook...ugh...wish we were ballers like the rest of CLSB.

I tell you what....

My parents and I have been having heated discussions about this for a few years now. They think I resent them for this, and I do! I can't stand listening to them talk about how this is awful that the politicians have bankrupted our kids and then turn around and do everything possible to make sure they get every benefit they can finagle, cheat, and steal from the government before it's gone. It sickens me that they participate in that and then try to have sympathy for future generations. It's a shame really, because it's something that seems to come up every time we get together and it's really hard to enjoy their company anymore.

My father has been collecting ss and medicare for a few years now and my mom still has a couple years before she is eligible. The logical side of me sees the truth about the situation, but the "son" side wishes that my mom could start collecting now and would not have to work as hard as she does.

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with frustrating parental money issues. Figuratively speaking, my Dad is sitting on a winning lottery ticket that he refuses to cash in because he's too shortsighted and/or stubborn. He's also seeing record annual revenues, but doesn't like paying taxes, so he does his best to spend EVERYTHING each year. Meanwhile, my older brother is leaching off Dad, and by all indications actually stealing from him. Dad knows and doesn't care.....

Had that problem with my inlaws. Then my mother-in-law passed. 6 months later my Father-in-law married a sweetheart scammer and got shlacked! Poof went his nest egg! Him and I had it out before he got married. I hired a PI and prooved through police records what this woman did to previous guys and even prooved she was living with another guy at the time. He said the Police records were wrong because she said they weren't true! That was one less parent I had to worry about!!!
