Illinois just legalized Gay marriage

now the state has infringed on my religious rights. Because they didn't want to call it a Civil Union which would have nothing to do with religion.

What does any of what you just said have any relation to what the topic of the subject is about? Are you slow?

When has marriage had anything to do with religion? Only if you're religious, and you choose to perceive it that way

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

When people get married in a Church. You know a church, where people worship a religion.

Do you know what church is yet? or are you still confused about it because you were wondering how marriage was religious.

Marriage is not a faith based invention. If you choose to recognize yours as such that's obviously your choice. But your choice shouldn't impede someone else's choices.

I'm not married. I'm still answering your question, which you keep avoiding. When a priest performs a marriage ceremony in a church, it becomes a religious act.

And you questioned how does it have anything to do with religion. Let me know if you can figure it out yet.

By that rational sodomizing young alter boys is also a religious act.

In that particular case then yes. Because the parties choose to perform it that way.

The same two people can also get married by an Elvis impersonator in a Vegas drive through.

The legal status and benefits of either union are the same.

Religious rights. Because gay people are accusing others of discrimination just like the typical liberals when they want something done religiously.

I haven't seen any gay people demanding a religious marriage. What I've seen is them demanding to have the same rights we do.

You are aware that there are openly gay clergy members right?

You should explain to me why "gay people" are pushing to change the definition of marriage and the law since the US government has stated marriage is between a man and a woman.

Why don't they ask to be in a civil union instead?

Same example as atheists try to take Christmas away from little children.

"I haven't seen any gay people demanding a religious marriage."

I have. And a few priests have been fired from their job for performing the services.

Laws get changed

Used to be illegal for women to vote, for blacks to play baseball, or for races to intermarry. The same arguments were used then too.

So in the future, we will legalize rape and marry children. Because change is for the better.

I have no clue, you tell me.

I'm still waiting for you to enlighten me on how gay people are going to priests asking them to get married when it goes against religion ideology.
