Tony, you call it 'good news'?

Hi.. we have a HUGE budget deficit. The 'good' news is that it's not AS BAD as we thought.. but it's still bad.

1) It's nothing to be proud of
2) It's not due to a singular thing like tax cuts.

I see a new thing here..

Let's PROJECT a TRILLION dollar deficit next time, and when it's only 990 Billion, we'll pop the champaigne and we'll attribute it to whatever we want to as the reason why it's so good

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....

Actually, I showed up late and didn't even bother to read the thread. I just like making jokes about the President.

It sounds a bit too much like trickle down economics. Sure the big rich CEO buys a 25 mil boat and the little people at the bottom get some scraps, the guy at the dock gets 20 bucks to help dock the beast, the diner by the dock sells him lunch etc.... But why is the big CEO making so much money and paying taxes? Because he saved a shit load by either offshoring his manufacturing or cutting benefits/pensions, paying low wages with the threat of offshoreing in the future. Basically the rich got richer by screwing a lot of people.

It's super good news that the deficit is getting paid down, don't get me wrong. I don't like the idea of the US owing money to countries that don't like us too much such as China and many places in the mid east. But let's also realize that our president went into this job with a budget surplus from the previous guy. Our president has racked up a hell of a bill and he should be responsible for paying it off before leaving. Damn he was more irresponsible than a college kid who got a gold card in the mail, just kept spending without worrying about paying for it.

Okay, I am off my soapbox

Does my trickle down economics look better now?

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Good to see you posting, Tony. Also good to see you're still wanting to fight the good fight!

EDIT:Any possibility getting you out for a ride?
