2000 gixxer build

So my cousin brought us his just purchased 2000 600, his first bike. Had a whoopsie and laid it down pretty decent. Plan is to get it all spruced up with a few custom touches on a modest budget.

We got it in yesterday and tore it down. Plastics have fair gouging. Clutch lever and mount snapped off. Shifter assembly snapped off. Passenger pet support snapped. Stator cover got gouged real bad.

Couple pics upon arrival

Things starting to come apart and begin damage assesment and parts hunting, etc.

Stator cover stripped and the beginning of welding to fill the gouges. Super dirty metal as you can see in the weld pool, Tim said its gonna be a fun welding job lol

The general plan as of now after looking at the changes I want:
-Plastics go to our paint/body guy this week. Rear and side fairings will be solid blue to match the current color and all gouging/rash fixed. Remove graphics from front fairing. This way no need to paint front fender or fairing, will work with the budget along with add some more blue to the bike.
-Replace blue windshield with black
-Replace torn grips with solid black and black tapered bar ends
-Front and rear sets/controls coated gloss black. Heel guards maybe in blue
-If his budget allows, I want to pull the wheels and two tone them black centers with blue lips, and black rotors
-Rear rotor being replaced with aftermarket along with new pads
-Polished slip on muffler to be coated black
-I may pull the top triple and clip ons and go blue triple and black clip ons, we'll see.

Other odds and ends may come up including maybe lower the bike with some links we have laying around. Like I said, this will be a clean and and simple budget build, nothing fancy like some of our builds on here lol.

I'll keep this updated as we progress on it.
