Vehicles with the spare tire underneath

Watch out for any vehicles with the spare tire suspended by a cable underneath right in front of the rear bumper. The older the vehicle the more likely that the cable is frayed and can at any moment launch the spare and/or the metal cross piece at following vehicles. I've seen 3 spare tire missiles on the expressway.

This happened in front of me last year. I was in my cage and had to violently swerve to avoid a bouncing 30 pound wheel coming at me!

Unless they have a TPMS sensor on there, now its a $1000 repair with wheel/tire/sensor/install/etc

I've seen alot of other stuff out there, haven't seen too many spares

Good call though, with this and the lawn mower shooting out part of a metal pole, gotta keep your eyes open
