Nope. No insurance money.
It still only had liability on it, since I hadn't really started riding for the year. I'd only just gotten the 2013 registration sticker for it on Tuesday.

Always throw theft and liability on for the bare min! Otherwise it's just like leaving cash sitting on the street. Hope you find your bike. At least there aren't many triumphs riding around. Good luck

Not good, I've seen others leave liability on for the winter to save a little money, but I just leave full coverage on all year around incase of any decent weather mid-winter and peace of mind.

At the very least should have comprehensive/theft at all times especially with that kind of bike in Chicago.

Hopefully its just some joy-riders

I appreciate your well wishes, guys.
However, it's a little too late to be telling me what I should have done with the insurance, no? There's no need to rub salt in the wound right now.

Steph, just FYI, your picture and "Lost Oberon" link takes us to your Flickr photo stream and we can see all of your photos. Not sure if you wanted to share all that.

I always liked that bike.......

Ill keep an eye out up here, and in the Milwaukee / Madison / Green Bay area.

Sorry to hear about the bike. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Have you posted on CR? Would be worth a shot to spread the word to those guys that aren't on here. Maybe put that picture up on CL to also spread the word. Best of luck!

The private sets aren't visible, but thank you for the reminder. All the other photos on there are public. Most of the time you'd come to them from a facebook link first, but a simple Google search of my flickr username will show them also. There are no nudies on the interwebs.

Wicker Park.
Honestly, it's doubtful the bike will even start for them unless they put a new battery in it. The little Shorai bastard in there hates starting in anything under 50 degrees!

Just like the old saying goes in racing, never ride anything on the track you are now willing to wreck and walk away from. I guess that saying should go with insurance. I really can't see the risk vs reward on taking full coverage off for a couple of months. Esp living in Chicago where the crime runs rampant.

Steph sorry for ur loss I will keep an eye out. You also might want to go to www.wera.com and also the ccs racing forum and post it.

Sorry to hear that.

FWIW, and PolishPete might be able to shed some light on this but my SF agent automatically prorates my bike insurance for the winter months. I still get year round full coverage but the winter months are billed at a much lower rate. Either that or he was lying to me. LOL Then again I'm a lot older than Steph and was only paying $500 a year for my Gixxer 750 insurance.
