2014 Husky

HUSQVARNA & HUSABERG TO BE RE-UNITED!
Ever since KTM boss Stefan Pierer recently used his company Pierer Industries AG to purchase the Husqvarna brand from BMW, the question on everyone's lips has been, what will happen with Husqvarna? Well, here are some of the first official clues as to what will happen in the future for the 100-plus-year-old Husqvarna brand, via a press statement issued this evening by Husqvarna - check it out:
“WE BRING TOGETHER WHAT BELONGS TOGETHER”
The year 2013 will be remembered in motorcycling history as the year that Husqvarna was reborn.
HUSQVARNA STARTS A NEW ERA OF GREAT SUCCESS
Following the acquisition of Husqvarna by Pierer Industries AG and after careful analysis and evaluation of all aspects, it was decided to re-unite what came out of shared roots 25 years ago. In other words, Husqvarna will enter a positive new era by combining its own rich heritage with Husaberg’s state-of-the-art technology.
NEW HUSQVARNA MODEL LINEUP TO BE PRESENTED IN OCTOBER
The new generation of Husqvarna models is already in progress: a new line-up, with brand new exclusive design and the latest technology is being developed and will be offered in the segments Enduro, Motocross and Sportminicycles. There will also be exciting, newly developed products in the Supermoto segment – one in which Husqvarna has enjoyed a lot of success in recent years.
DON'T MISS THE PRESENTATION OF THE NEW HUSQVARNA OFF-ROAD LINE-UP IN SWEDEN, PLANNED FOR EARLY OCTOBER 2013.
The new line-up will be presented to the big fan community at the international EICMA show in Milan in early November.
HUSQVARNA SPORTMOTORCYCLE GMBH, OPERATIONAL AS OF OCTOBER 2013
As of October 2013, the new group company 'Husqvarna Sportmotorcyle GmbH' based in Mattighofen, Austria, will be fully operational in the production and sale of the new model range to the Husqvarna network of dealers and distributors. Parts supply and customer service for all Husqvarna models up to and including Model Year 2013 are guaranteed for the years to come and will remain at the current business location in Biandronno (VA), Italy.

KTM is growing faster than they ever have - The MX GPs are dominated by KTM now and with Dungey on MX last Year and Roczen on SX this year, they are racking up titles where they never have before - There are rumors that MX1 and MX2 will standardize on the KTM350 Model to even the paying field and KTM is also stepping up its efforts in AMA - Not to mention their Adventure line - Berg and Husky will be lucky to have single digit penetration in any of their markets - Even in SM, TM is kicking everyone's asses

The new Huskys will be manf. in Austria. They're not competing for market share, they're trying to consolidate market share. The new bikes will be blue KTM's, just like the new Bergs - hence the photoshop pic above.

Berg and Husky really only consistently shined in Enduro - Husky had a good run in SM for a few years but Ape and TM stepped up the game - I guess taking two small companies and combining them to make 1 small Co is cool and i am glad Husky is getting its feet again but comparing them to KTM and the KTM level is not a fair compare at all

at the end of the day, every Husky sold is now market share for KTM, just as the case with Husaberg. combining Berg and Husky may not seem all that big of a change, but it get's those Blue and yellow KTMs in a whole new set of dealerships. could also be that Husky really does have some new 2T technology that KTM was interested in.

Where is the $$? - 4T - Not sure why you would continue to invest in 2T when the racing series (win on Sun, sell on Mon) around the globe is all 4T - At least the one that draws crowds and have purses where teams can attempt to be positive or break even

KTM sells more two strokes than most of the jap brands sell in total for offroad bikes.

Would love to see that stat amigo - Maybe overseas.....

Also, maybe more than Kawi or Suz but Yami and Honda? I think Yami is the last to still make a 2T as well, no?

Especially wit the new carb technology, look at the smart carb, i think Gas gas is going to sell them standard and i think KTM was talking to apt Smart carb also - less emissions maybe even less than 4ts

yep, the Smartcarb thread is probably the largest active thread over on KTMTalk. I'd be interested in trying one once they're out of the pre-order development stages.
