Thielman, Mn trail ride

Since we actually got a lot of interest in Fox Valley thread, i thought I'd throw this out there.

Thielman, Mn trail ride is held every year by the Golden Eagles MC. Trails are only open to bikes twice a year and they're supposed to be great. 2 days of all the riding you could ever want. Not to mention camping and bullshitting with a ton of over dirt cycle dudes

Sept 7th and 8th are the dates. Its 4 hours from Rockford so figure 5 hours from the NW burbs. You know you want to do it!

I'm not sure who might have a DB meter. I know Wardy doesn't. Oldtimebiker might know of something. The only place I've evar been checked was a place calls Cliffs Insane terrain in Marseilles.

Does your hike have an aftermarket pipe? I didn't read that close, do they require a spark arrestor?

they say they enforce the 96 db so I have to assume they will be for that long of a drive. Its a stock pipe thats been repacked but its louder that all hell. Its my kids bike Im referring to, mine should be ok.

It does say a spark arrestor is required.

I would say you should invest in an fmf q series slip on. Pricey but you wont be making ungodly noise. Maybe try repacking again and see what happens.

Looks like a lot of fun. Have to see what I have going on that weekend.

Also interested in traveling around to check out other trails. I'm sure you guys know where all of the good stuff is. Maybe a weekend trip somewhere in MI(have heard about trails around Baldwin?). How's the riding at Dyracuse Park WI? Looks like a day trip would be possible.

Another vid of some Theilman singletrack riding. Too bad it's only open for dirt cycles 4 days a year.

Check these things out:

http://www.dirtwerkz.com/Pages/produ...t/dB_Dawg.html

These were what a few of us were using when we were having the issues staying quiet in SM to try to keep the track at Norway open to us.

They work pretty good and they are pretty cheap. Just make sure they set screw is nice and tight as they will fly out if not properly secured. They also have a spark arrestor screen.

I think Tnat might have had the sound meter, but I'm not sure.
