Chandlerville GP 3/16 from North Chicagoland

Is anyone making the trip down from Gurnee area? I'd like to go but only if I can carpool. Long drive there & back in the same day...

Yeah. I sent the boingers out for an oil change. If I have them back I'll be in.

For those that don't know, the d17 GP series will score A, B, C seperately this year.

Tempted. Just picked up a new ride last month but it's not quite ready. Plus I only have about 5 min ride time on it taking laps around the block. We'll see...

Chris- I'm in a similar situation. Probably have less than 45 minutes on the ktm although its really easy to ride fast over nasty obstacles. Ryan Moss set it up supremely. I'll check suspension since I outweigh him by probably 20-30# although I'm sure he makes up for it in aggression so it may be ok.

Got a few queries into Canton MC to see if this event will still go given the horrendous weather. My enthusiasm is ebbing given the 8 hr drive to ride 2 x 20 min motos.... The first enduro of the season (Goshen) has been postponed until Nov!

2013 sucked big time for me (laid off in Sept) and 2014 isn't too promising given the weather and sluggist economy (yeah got laid off end of Jan.). Things are not good when a 28 yr experience PE chemical engineer with an MBA international business, 6 sigma black belt can't find a good position quickly locally. Thinking of ditching the continent, working for the Saudis for 3-5 yrs and retiring in Europe.

I'm feeling the same way about the drive too for such short riding time but the bike isn't going to be ready anyway.

If I can get the bike sorted this weekend I'm thinking about heading a little further south to ride for a day trip next weekend. Anyone ridden at brushy ridge in Astoria? Worth the drive for the trails/track?

I've been to Astoria, not terribly impressed. They keep the track closed if its wet. Everything was really wide there.

I'm out. Got a speeding ticket on the way back from working a hockey game late last night, got a fever and not looking forward to 8hrs in the car to ride 2X20 min motos.

Maybe next year. Probably got to Leaf River for the Dual and then onto the Roselawn endo.

Hmmm, not what I wanted to hear. Some of the videos I found showed what appeared to be decent single track around there I thought.

Just looking for some place that might be open during the next couple weekends. Particularly within distance for a day trip.

I've also heard if good single there, but I couldn't find it. It would be a good place to go ride on a Saturday before a Sunday race, if there's something else going ob down that way.

leaf river info

Dual Sport is postponed. A tenative date is April 27th but the club has to talk to land owners and the start area complex to see if that will work for everyone or not. We will post an update as soon as we can.

I looked into that place too. Quite a hike but the trails and that classic track look worth it.

Post from their FB yesterday.

We will be open for riding all week. Classic track still in good shape after the weekend. Woods are drying out. Will be working on The Bomber this week for the weekend.

Look for the roselawn family enduro also. Really sandy and can be ridden in almost any weather. Closed course, so no headlights or anything needed. I'll probably make that one.

The Leaf River Dual sport has been posponed to 4/27 from 4/6. It will interesting to see if that first Roselawn enduro - the Sand Gobbler will go on 4/13. Everything is being postponed. Summer won't be till september...

The sand gobbler will go. They run regardless of weather. One year it was snowing all day.

3/31/14: leaf river update

The Dual Sport for the spring has been canceled. The 27th won't work for the landowners so we are looking at moving it to the fall. Once a new date is picked I'll post it up. Please pass the word.

I wanted to do the sandgob but my bike is apart for a susp rebuild, looking to do some DS rides this year
