Byron GP - Aug 23

I've never ridden a GP but, I'm looking to ride the Club57 GP on Aug 23. Is anyone planning on riding the event?

Take care and ride safe,
Brian

I'd like to do the GP on Saturday and the HS on Sunday. Never rode a GP before but the HS was awesome last year. One of my favorite woods trails.

Anyone else camping Saturday night?

Their web site says that they will be closed Friday to allow things to dry up for the weekend. Sounds like they are doing what they can to be ready and not cancel. They open track might dry quickly from the sun but I wonder what the woods will look like. I might put on a few extra tear-offs just in case .

I just exchanged texts with Club57 Brad who is at Byron now laying out the GP track. He said that track for the GP will be amazing. Hopefully we dodge more rain.

Well, it was kind of disastrous. After an uneventful sighting lap, we set up for the long wait for Race 5 (45 yr olds+). Midway through race #2, someone showed me a gps map of incoming weather... it looked bad. So I raced with the guys in Race 3 (30+). Second lap in, the skies opened and previously snotty track became nasty, grass portion even slicker and woods section - not too bad. I completed lap #2 packed up and battled hard driving rain @ 40 mph for 3 hrs to Crystal lake. Brilama chose to wait instead but left when I did when the place turned into a swamp.

After dealing with the mud during the practice lap, I wasn't disappointed to have the race rained out. The drive home sucked.
