Anyone else going?

I'll be there running with the amateures on Sunday morning for sure but probably head down Saturday to see the side by sides race.

I'll have room for anyone that wants to hitch a ride for a little gas money.

I'm definitely up for it. Are you racing or spectating? I did a Shane Watts school there 2 years ago in the fall.

I'll be racing the 10:00 on Sunday. I did it last year and had a blast. It's a really great course. Entry fee is reasonable and if you do it early on line you get a gift card to Rocky Mountain ATV.

The side by sides and Razers race on Saturday afternoon. 4:30 I think. I kinda wanted to watch them blast through the woods.

Circumstances have been conspiring against me keeping me from getting out to amateur events lately but, unless something is really pressing I plan to make it to this as a spectator/official...at least for the Sunday (motorcycle) portion. Anybody from CLSB who is racing what are your numbers?...I'll make a point of trying to look you up and say hello.

BTW...GotZuk, where are the photos that are on the CLSB homepage gallery from?...Looks like a fun place to ride/race.

I'd love to but not sure yet. Are you camping or grabbing a hotel room?

The MAXC race in Casey, IL is the weekend before(Sat 10/18 - All big bikes including pros race at noon). Both races are quite a drive and right now I'm lacking the motivation for long hours on the road two weekends in a row.

It really is a nice course. Much longer than FVOR. In 120 minutes, most guys get 3-4 laps in. There is good elevation change but nothing that can't be done. A few creek crossings that get very muddy and rutted out. Those are good spectator spots along with the couple big hill climbs that Ironman is known for. Since it's such a large race, there are always multiple lines for any obstacle. The shortest line is usually the most difficult because it's been torn up. There is usually someone stalled there anyway.

They incorporated the supercross track last year which was cool. It was still being built at that time so it was very rough. I'm curious how they will use it this year now that it has been completed.

It's very cool racing the same course as the factory teams. I believe that they had close to 1000 motorcycles race last year. It's a big couse, however, so it doesn't feel that crowded.

Since Russell has the XC1 Pro title wrapped up he'll be racing a Factory Spec KTM 150 XC for the last two remaining rounds. After which the bike will be raffled off and for a good cause too. Check it out here. http://www.innovationoffroad.com/201...raiser-raffle/

Video of Kailub ripping it up and getting in some practice. Btw, it looks like he took 2nd aboard the 150 yesterday at the Powerline Park race in OH. Heard he led most of the race too.

Man I really need to get back into doing some off road shit. Going to race the WERA grand national this weekend and then hopefully get back on a woods bike for next year.

grasshopper - you'll be on an ice bike probably before a woods bike. I was thinking of doing the GNC as you're doing but digging myself out of debt by refereeing over 10 games a weekend. Better to make $3-400 than spent $1500 racing in Al...

I might make the Leaf event. Did it a few years ago but stayed in Rockford with a very hot gf. So I rode one loop with a head ache. Racing the Big Red White City enduro the next day way down state.

Cannot do the GNCC - 4 hockey games to ref. plus a family brunch Sunday afternoon (between games).

They announced more than 850 riders in the 10:00 race alone! It was huge.

I started out great. Felt good, made some passes started getting into nice a rhythm..... until the second or third hill. That's where things started to fall apart for me. Got stuck behind another rider on two or three hills. Wasted a ton of energy getting unstuck. Got stuck behind a rider in a muddy creek crossing after that. On the second lap, I got stuck again in the muddy creek. The bike fell while I was pulling it out of the ruts. Mud got into the throttle tube and it started to bind up on me. The throttle would stick open and not return to closed - never a good thing when you dall as much as I do lol. That was pretty much the final blow for me and I called it quits around 1 hour into the race. I finished in the top 800 at least

Really disappointed in my performance overall. I did well last year (for me at least) and I was planning on doing better this year. More motivation to do it again next year I guess.

Very fun event. Well run and very well organized considering the size. I plan on making this an annual trip for sure. The side by sides were a blast to watch too.

Man, that sounds like my last race in Geneseo. Damn muddy creek crossings.

I really would like to make a GNCC race someday. You going to try and make the limestone 100 again next year? How do the two compare?
