Leaf River Dual Sport- Saturday 11/8

Looks like there's some interest in this so figured I'd start a new thread. Last year was my first time and I had a total blast. The Forest City Riders crew put together an awesome event and I'm sure this year will be no different.

I rode my old KX250 last year and just threw some lights(non-working) on it. I ending up selling the bike but kept the lights. So anyone that needs a headlight & taillight, you're welcome to borrow mine.

Hum... interested although I'll be doing the rescheduled White City Big Red Enduro on Sunday. This might be a good warm up for that downstate enduro. If it get moved to the weekend of the 21st, I'd do it. I'll be in Ottawa Canada the following WEnd

chris and myself rode it at a fairly good pace last year, caught up with stan near the end who also runs pretty good, I should have at least one friend coming this year and anyone who likes trails should do this ride, FCR puts a lot of effort into this and it shows

Should be in with Sticky for a lap this year. We'll be drinking coffee while the two lappers break in the trail - so not likely to see the early risers until they pass me on their second go around.

if you do 2 laps you pass by the lot where you park and can re-fuel for the 2nd lap, but for the 33 mile loop your out there in the cornfields, I didn't see anyone run out of gas last year

That sounds like the better idea. In all honesty, I was pretty beat after one lap last year. My heart was in it for one more but my body was ready to get my eat on and a hot shower.

+1 Forget the size of the stock tank on the KX but I was nowhere near empty after one lap. Although I'm far from an aggressive rider so ymmv.

?! Then who did we pay to ride around for 3 hours? (I don't remember on account of the concussion - but Sticky assured me we were at Leaf River)

Great ride. Great weather. Bad headache.

Good times and the weather turned out much better than expected. Man I wish this ride could happen more than once a year. Having withdrawals just 24hrs later and have to wait another year. Got a much later start than I had planned and didn't hit the trail until 11am. Dave, I think I saw your rig in the parking lot but didn't see anybody or bikes around. Figured you were long gone.

Underdog, this is kind of a shot in the dark, but did a guy on an orange bike stop at the top of a hill and turn around to ask if you were ok? If so that may or may not have been me. I know the guy said he hit his head pretty good and was on a yamaha. Matter of fact, a guy further up the trail that was asking about you was on a Kawi. Sticky? Regardless, glad to hear you're ok and had a good ride.
