7/18/2010 PBTF Ride for Kids

I will be doing this again this year. Last year I saw many CLSB'ers there ... wtg!

Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
Chicagoland Ride for Kids

Information on this ride can be found at:

http://www.pbtfus.org/rideforkids/ca...icagoland.html

The meet spot is:

Elgin Community College
1700 Spartan Dr.
Elgin, IL 60123

Registration opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 9:15 a.m. The escorted ride starts at 9:30 a.m. sharp, rain or shine!

The minimum donation to ride is $35, but the more money you raise, the more premiums you earn. For each $200 you raise, your name will be entered into a drawing for a new Honda motorcycle, an AGV helmet, a Dunlop tire, and Tourmaster luggage.

Notes from Dave:

- With a minimum $50 donation, you will get an event t-shirt!

- When you register, please be sure to put "Chicagoland Sportbikes (CLSB)" as the group you are riding with. Write it out, as well as with the abbreviation, so that they know who we are. The more exposure we can give our group here, the better!

- For those of you who purchased the CLSB stickers from Dean, please be sure to sport them on your ride! If you haven't ordered stickers yet, please get in touch with Dean as soon as you can.

Don't recall exactly. Lunch stop is upon returning to ECC. So I'd guess 1 maybe 2 at the latest.

Last year, we left the ECC lot at 9:30am, and I think we were back by 11:30am. Depends on if we get stuck by a freight train. Last year we didn't enounter that, but 2 years ago we did, and it split the parade into 2 bunches.

Most of the roads will be blocked off by police and closed off from normal traffic. You may not have many opportunities to do that.

I may not be able to stay for the festivities after the ride either. Have lots to do on Sunday.

Last I looked, a there's a 50% chance of rain. Consider bringing rain gear.
