Mooseheart Blessing of the Bikes

From Mike Lockhart:

For several years now, my brother and I have participated in the "blessing of the bikes" at Mooseheart. What is it? Its a wonderful feel good day. Mostly a "harley" event. But we let the kids sit on our bikes.

Sat May 19 at Mooseheart. In the parking lot on Rt 25, next to the stadium. 155 S International Drive Mooseheart IL. is the official address. The parking lot will open at 7am, we'll be done by noon.

What is Mooseheart? "a residential childcare facility". Check out; mooseheart.org

From Me:
I CAN GO THIS YEAR! YEAY!

I'll be there. If anyone can take some time out of their weekend, ride out! We trailer all the track bikes in for the event. Load yours up and come out! I love this event. Mooseheart is an orphanage for kids of all ages. The smiles and stories we hear from the kids are great! Every (unfortunately) we see the same kids from the year before. A little bigger, but great kids. We meet in the parking lot for the ceremony. Then we ride the complex roads to the chapel for the actual blessing. The houses the kids live in are very cool. Each one is dedicated to a state where where the Moose Lodge has locations. They are all themed to their state. So the New Mexico house looks like it's from the South West.

If at all possible, consider coming out. It's a great way to give back to those that could use a little joy in their day. It's a half day of the weekend. If your up for the whole event, there is an organized group ride usually and then a dinner or BBQ at the end of the ride. I'm not sure if that is the case this year.

Typically we have a few sport bikes / racde bikes and kids flock to them. There are typically many many Harley's and cruisers and we are the minority. Lets change that this year.

I hope we can see many of you out there. Post up here if you can make it. Even if you don't post up, show up last minute. No pre-registration is necessary.
