Earths axis shifted?!?!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35662192...ace/?GT1=43001

Anyone else see this, took a little study break and found it. Basically saying that the earths axis may have been shifted due to the location of the recent 8.8 earthquake in chille.

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

yup, not good. The only other times in history this has happened it was soon followed by a mass extinction.

That's why all this green planet bs kills me. This was over due to happen. You can have a clean planet all you want but when the axis shifts and mass extinction follows..........the earth will survive, but those who tried to save it will, most likely, not.

I dont think its saying were all going to die, its just saying that the days could possibly be shorter.......by a couple milliseconds (NOOOOO thats less riding time)

but it is interesting that it happend in 2004 with a 9.0 then again now with an 8.8 yet due to location the 8.8 had a bigger effect

Absolutely right! We all know it's cow farts that is causing this global havoc, not cars!

9.0??? When. I'm pretty sure 8.8 is the biggest on file officially. Some are speculated bigger many years ago but none recorded.

I think when Indonesia hit, it was initially a 9.0, but I think they revised that number down later.

I thought the one in Alaska in 1964 was up close to the 9.0 range?

I was saying quoting 9.0 from the article, I myself was a little shocked by the number my self. Sorry for any confusion.

Wow, Thats gotta be rough for chilie, suffered an 8.8 now and a 9.5 50 years ago. holding the title of 2 of the largest earthquakes cant be a good record.

I'd say they do. This was a far more powerful (orders of magnatude) quake and they lost a thousandth as many people

I want to say I read it was 500x more
Powerful but that just sounds too unbelievable.
