Do you have an IT department? Why no let them handle retrieving the data, since they could probably get the SSN from HR.

SSN's should NOT be readily available to anyone unless they have the "need to know".

Still are Government property. I always love calling off names off a list for people that our UA needed to get paperwork squared away, especially the new people to my unit that are too shy to speak up. They then get to perform a squad bender at count 1 for a few minutes.
