I've got my DVR setup already. I never seen Band of Brothers but the previews looked good for Pacific.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Well the series start off at Guadalcanal. It starts off giving some background of the 3 ppl that the series will follow throughout the Pacific campaign.

Here is some history about Guadalcanal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guadalcanal_Campaign.
The Americans had 60000 ground forces and lost 7100 souls the Japanese had 36200 soldiers and lost 31000 soldiers.

I'm stoked about this; I've read lots of WWII books and loved BoB.

Same producers as BOB? This series is terrible. Shame on you HBO!

I freakin' LOVED Band of Brothers, but was somewhat disappointed with the first part of The Pacific series.

This series is not very good so far. Lots of cliches and bad casting it seems. I'm not really digging it to this point........hopefully it gets better. I don't even know who anyone is yet!

^ I agree on the casting, but it's definitely entertaining. It's no Band of Brothers though... at least not yet.

Yeah there's been almost no character development. I already knew a bunch of the stories/medal winners from Guadalcanal and I still had a tough time following things.

That dude "Lucky" was a terrible casting choice. I don't buy him at all.
