am I crazy?

apple's mobile me has a 200 message per 24 hour cap on sending email.

does anyone think that's too low?

I understand they are imposing limits to help keep spam coming from their accounts to a minimum, but I would think 500 is more reasonable.

I'm sure they can make exceptions. Call them and explain your situation.

I don't send 200 emails per month, nonetheless per day. Holy crikey!

Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

if he has system messages being generated by a server. I can be working on an issue and a server be sending me 200 messages an hour while I am working on it.

I think you need to adjust your alerting system. That's an insane amount of e-mails. How does that make you work any better?

we use a management platform that watches servers - it watches the event logs and Insight manager logs, etc. When I am working on an issue (say BE12.5 backup issue) I might stop and start the services 10 times an hour. Backup exec has like 6 services (can't remember the exact amount) so each time I stop and start it, it's 12 emails (one for each service)

Hopefully during a normal business day, I don't get any emails from any servers, that is the goal anyway.

so after doing the math, 100 emails an hour is probably possible, but 200 is rediculous, however 200 emails (not that I read them all) a day is pretty normal

But that's incoming not outgoing. So that wouldn't be applicable here... Right?

oh maybe, I misunderstood.

What is the point of mobile me anyway? If you connect directly to your email, what does Mobile Me have to do with it?
