The one I bought my car from was good to me, but they were in the southern suburbs, Orland Park, Joe Rizza Acura. Found a car on cars.com. Agreed on a price over the phone, did a test drive, and drove off with the car all under an hour. I like dealerships that can deal and don't screw with you all day.

+1 Most dealers have internet sales managers, contact a few and get some quotes before setting foot in a dealership.

might be a hike, but McGrath Honda @ I-90 and Randall has a ton of stock available. I've dealt with the svc dept, and have never had any issues with them (always professional)

New or Used? If used, the Lisle Honda Superstore (used car portion of Lisle Honda) has low key, low pressure salesmen. Easy to deal with and they do a fuck ton of business in the western burbs.

I used edmunds.com when I was searching for an Si about a year back and O'hare Honda gave me the best internet quote by at least $500 out of 5 dealerships that responded to my request. This was after about a weeks worth of going back and forth. Schaumburg Honda was by far the worst and wouldn't even spit out a price other than sticker. I would get quotes via internet first as these days it doesn't matter if you know someone or not because they will rape you all the same. Research, research, research is your best bet IMHO.

i recommend McGrath Acura on Ogden in Westmont. My sister in law bought a car there, a good friend, several clients, GREAT service depart, free Acura loaner anytime you bring in your car. highly recommended.

I don't use them for service. I only purchased there and they were straight forward. No BS haggling, we agreed on the price over the phone, I signed the papers and left.

mcgrath acura on ogden, and hond of lisle. got it. I've done enough research to know what I want to be getting them to on price, no time to fire off a ton of email quote requests at this point. Need to start shopping.

Chris,

The sales person (if he is still there) that I recommend at McGrath is Thomas Whitfield. 630-330-6224. Tell him Mandy Kennedy sent you.

I just bought a 2010 MDX with Tech package on Saturday.
Sticker was about $46,700.00 invoice on it is $43070.00 but there is a 2% dealer hold back that you can try to dip into. I got them down to $42,700.00 and they made about $300.00 bucks off of me by splitting the hold back. I agreed because he also came up on my trade in by $300 more than the other dealer I went to. Oh and its 2.9% special financing for 60months.

I bet you can get $42,500.00 if you fight hard enough. But let me know if you need who I worked with, it was in Libertyville Acura.

that's GREAT info. I'm interested in the mdx with tech and entertainment packages though which has an invoice of $44,642. Knowing you got them below invoice means I should be shooting for $44ish.

Let me know how well that vehicle holds up over the 10 years you plan to keep it and use it for carrying 2 kids around.

I spent 6k on a used civic when I was 20 and kept it for a long ass time and put 100k trouble free miles on it. I'm not 20 anymore.
