Motorcycle vs. Semi Truck

Does anyone know any other details about this? I saw it on the news this morning but no details were given. From what I could see it was a black bike laying perpendicular to the direction of traffic. WGN's helicopter cameras aren't HD so I couldn't even tell if it was a cruiser or sportbike but just wanted to see if anyone had any additional info.

Lanes of the outbound Kennedy Expressway were open again after being shut down at the Edens junction as crews cleared a crash involving a motorcycle and a semitrailer, Illinois State Police said.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries, a state police dispatcher said.

Check back for additional details.

Beginning of the season is always the worst. Riders haven't ridden for months and push themselves too hard (especially the newbs) and cars aren't used to having to double check for bikes.

Glad to see he made it. He's got a long road of recovery ahead of him though.

Already started up here last thrusday. SUV turned in front of a bike. Rider and his wife died. Rider was 22 and just got back from Iraq and his wife was 21 or 22. They had a 2yr old girl at home. State is investigating the crash and no tickets have been issued yet.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I found out more details about this crash. A guy on my soccer team was telling us about it at our game last night. He said his co worker was right behind the truck that hit the biker and it was the bikers fault not the trucker. The biker was merging onto 90 from cumberland. What i don't understand is at 4 in the moring there is no fricken traffic. How hard is it to avoid an accident at that time of the day?!?!?!?!
