US Census

has everyone fully completed and returned your 2010 US Census?
And do you believe that all of the info is to be for the census only and not shared with any other Gov branches? Interesting wording they use with regards to privacy

Yeah, I'm not happy with their need to know names of people on the property. Was it this was in the 2000 Census? I don't remember getting one 10 years ago, though I assume I had done it.

Yes, every census I've seen (about 6 of them now - 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010) want to know the names of those who live at that address.

Look up what the word "census" means. It's an enumeration of individuals. And it's mandated by the US Constitution.

OH, yea, it's a vast left (right) wing government conspiracy, too.

Just fill it out, takes less than 3 mins. The questions on it are a joke, nothing personal at all in my opinion. Was actually hoping there were more detailed questions. How money is distributed in your neighborhood/county/state depends on it.
Especially important if you have small kids. Money for schools, parks, daycare, libraries, etc are highly dependent on knowing how many people will be using it.

If privacy is your concern don't worry, the gov already knows everything about you. And your credit card companies know even more about you than them.

Yes, I was wondering why it made such a distinction if you were Mexican or other.

I completed it. I agree with others...the government has ways of finding out this information, they were just trying to do it in the public eye - you know, a "transparent" government.

Isn't it the freakin' weekend yet???

Growing Number Of Americans Distrust Census

Despite the fact that the 2010 Census form is the shortest in recent history, some anti-government activists are refusing to answer any question besides the number of people in their household.

What information are they trying to keep private?

* Anything that evokes a little bit of mystery, and rekindles that old spark between us and the Census Bureau
* How often on-again, off-again boyfriend was shacking up
* That they can't remember new offspring's name
* How many times they ordered some Time-Life item off television only to claim it never arrived, demand a new set, and then return that one for a full refund
* That they are Osama bin Laden
* That they prefer to sleep in a Vaseline-lined thermal pouch
* Whether they rent or own their heavily armed secessionist compound
* Their DNA sequence, which, according to multiple credible websites, the Census collects from saliva on the return-envelope adhesive and then adds to a secret government database

My neighbors census asked a bunch of questions about living cost. I didn't have any of those questions on mine. Is it wrong that I included the dogs as my children?
