Ughh! Now I must have them!!! ha

so I happened to let myself browse around the mall this morning and strolled into the apple store and of course! Now I have to have something!!! But is it funny that it's not an apple product!? lol... None the less I HAVE to have these!

Beats by Dr. Dre, HOLY SHIT! I've been periodically looking at them online but until today never heard them, until apple had them on display with there Iphones, WOW! I must have them! I LOVE good music and good headphones!

And At the current moment I have these "in ear" HP's for the gym and such:

And these for around the house or long trips when I want to jam with there 55mm drivers!

But after putting those "BEATS" on OMG were they UNBELIEVABLY comfortable (Were I've noticed, about an hour or more and my heshs start to hurt after a while, not the best design, GREAT SPEAKERS just not the actually headset) and these things are the best I've heard so far! (For the price of course) EXCELLENT Bass response! And Eliminates the noise around you pretty damn well too! Just putting them on before starting a song, everything goes quit. I'm a BIG FAN! And I think they would be awesome for listening to a movie loud as hell when everybody is asleep!

Anybody have them personally?

Tom

For $300, I'm surprised you haven't found a pair of Bose, Sennheisers, (add favorite audio specialty product vendor). that sound comparable if not better?

Model = er6i
Manufacturer = Etymotic

Etymotic is a local company that makes EXCELLENT sound products. They're highly reputable and their ER6i's are arguably one of the best noise isolating earbuds out there (for their given price point). They have a few more products that surpass the ER6i's for about $150-$200 price range.

The K 702 are the new reference for open-back dynamic AKG headphones. They combine an extremely accurate response with yet unseen agility and spaciousness. This is achieved by using revolutionary flat-wire voice coils and a patented Varimotion? two-layer diaphragm. A totally open design and a high performance cable complete these reference headphones. Their comfortable, specially shaped ?3D-form? ear pads and a padded genuine-leather headband ensure a perfect fit. They are individually tested and numbered. K 702 ? experience pure perfection.
i just see they have good reviews.

Yea "Open Design" They may sound AWESOME, but just be careful if you don't want something EVERYBODY else is gonna hear!

Thats one thing I don't like about some headphones, I prefer most of the music to stay within the earcup.

Those Dre Beats are outstanding. I spoke with the monster rep at CES there is a ton of technology in them. They are active and require a battery to run. Hands down the best headphones I listened too. Monster bass but nice and tight. Tested them side by side with the fancy Bose ones and the Monster's blew them away. $300 is steep but if you use them a lot totally worth it.
Some stores have them on display where you can test them, do your self a favor and try them. You will be blown away.

My point is not that the Monster Beats are crap, but that they are overpriced and that from an audiophile's perspective, you could do much better at the $300 price point.

If they were priced say, closer to $150, then I'd say go for 'em and enjoy! But for $300 retail... you can do much better.

Go hang out on head-fi.org... tons of crazed audiophiles there who can help you out.

Ultrasones are the only way to go in my opinion. Once you have heard them, you'll understand. Ive tried all of them. Bose, Sennheiser, Monster, Shure, but they all sound like junk compared to the Ultrasones. And The crazy thing is, they are in the same price range as most of the mainstream "highend" headphones.
