He be dead now. Pretty sure the wife killed him, but Callie at the CSI lab is pretty backed up with cases so I can't confirm. As the only dinosaur still in existence today, this gator failed to survive our household. After he died, I just put him on top of the garbage bags underneath the garbage can lid. Pretty sure the garbage man had a frickin' grabber when he lifted that lid.

When I use to go to the reptile show at the Dupage County Fair Grounds, there were always vendors that had gators there. I was wondered what type of person would be dumb enough to buy one....

...now I know

You would change your tune if you saw him eat a mouse or bird.

As a former reptile nut, trust me, I've seen it all. I had hillbilly buddies in college that I sold 3-4 foot long monitors too that could eat a small child. One buddy had an 16' Burmese python that he would feed small goats/pigs/the occasional stray cat that would come onto his property/etc.

At least those, you could actually get out of the cage and handle. What would you do when the gator got 5 feet or bigger? You'd have to dedicate a room to him.

...And yes, I thought my buddies were all idiots too

Legal to sell for "educational purposes" under a certain size I think. Pretty sure you're not allowed to own them most places though. I'm a little out of touch with the laws, but I think that's how people sell most reptiles like that. I know baby turtles are like that.

Im guessing youre spot on as he had hand written signs all over the tanks saying they were for scientific purposes only. He had turtles too
