They are closing all over. Even closing places that they built less than one year ago from the ground up. Over saturated the market, not to mention that during tough times some folks find it hard to spend money on this little extra treat.

Not that I care much for sbux, but the brand-new one by me in Chan-ooka closed after like 6 months. It was a supposedly profitable location also. I don't get out enough to notice any other locations being closed. They used to be everydamnwhere. We have some Bean Encounters place down the road and it closes at like 2pm daily.

I could never really find anything I liked at sbux. I drink those foamy, creamy flavoured coffess though. I actually usually drink coffee when I get home from work. Really only in the evenings for dessert. It doesn't do anything to wake me up or get me going.

True story! I'm not even hard up for cash or anything and I still evaluate waisting 5 bucks on a darn cup of Joe in the morning. Just the times we live in now.

Starbucks has closed close to 600 stores in the last year or so.

We on the other hand are moving to a bigger location. We'll nearly double in size and add a kitchen. I'm taking all of our bakery production in house and we will add a small artisan beer and wine menu to round out our drink offerings in the evening. I just ordered $21K in Electrolux equipment for the new space.... I think Starbucks overextended and diluted the quality of their product. Places like us that are quality focused and more "Hand Crafted" are doing just fine.

That place was pretty good, over on 95th. I think that's Hickory Hills. Is it still open? I haven't been out that way in a long time.

My buddy just moved to Woodstock. I'll definitely be riding out to your place this summer. Can't wait to try it, and a kitchen sweetens the deal!

Oh NO! You mean 3 Starbucks CLOSED? Holy shit! That means that now instead of a Starbucks on every corner, we're going to have to walk another block to get to the next Starbucks? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

The 1st one was not even a week ago, I would have noticed a sign posted but nothing. The 2 others about 2 weeks ago, I don't do sbux everyday and the $2.00 don't hit too hard, I used to go there for their blueberry scones and then get the coffee. No scones...No coffee, then on to 7-11 for the fresh brewed green tea. I also noticed 2 others that I've never been and now their closed, 1 is only 2 months old (building and all)

Hmm, i know alot of starbucks are going through a remodel, if the stores 5 years old or so that could be the reason. Not sure about why there closed especially since there new. gots me kinda curious
