The state troopers have been hitting that area hard this year and have even been bragging about how many tickets have been written on the overhead signs. I just went to court on one of those tickets (79/55) on 294 and paid the, gulp, $175 in fines and fees. The judge was not particularly nice to people with lawyers either.

subpoena the radar gun which was used to clock you to see if it was calibrated and certified during the use of ticketing. I have gotten off the hook for doing this once. Even a slight variation of the radar gun will throw the ticket out.

Was clocked doing 75 in a 45. Whet to the Maywood ct house. Walked away with no fine or ticket and 3 months supervision. Total layer fee 125. No school or anything. May have helped that I was nice to the cop instead of a tool. Guessing it will cost between 250 and 350 to make it go away.

I'll take the Michelin's

I got tagged 84/55 on 294 and Lake Cook.. I deserved it because I was probably going faster than that so I think he cut me a break on not going the 30mph over. But once I got my ticket issued he jumped in the car and pulled over another car immediately. Then the next day I saw the same Trooper grabbing another car in the same spot and yet again the following day. He's a busy little bee thats for sure.. I know this does nothing for your situation, just thought I would share in the misery.

I saw a newspaper story that most states are telling all the LEO's to not give any cushion on speeding anymore...even if you're doing a couple miles over, you're getting a ticket...sounds like revenue generation to me...

I think it sucks that most of the highways around here are only 55...most drivers are usually doing 75 or better and you have to stay pace or get run over...since you haven't had a ticket in so long the states attorney will notice this and maybe catch you a break...if not, you'll just have to grin and bear it...a fine, school and keep it off your record ain't so bad these days...my 2cts...

I feel ya on this one...I've only had one ticket in 18 years and that was 8 years ago...good luck.

Oh, knock on wood...lol

No problem. Bring me the ticket and the tires and forget it about it. I also have a bridge to sell you cheap. You can set up a stand and charge tolls! Totally legit! TRUST ME!

I've got a lawyer I could recommend to you when I got a 90 in 55mph near woodfield mall, he got it taken off my record and just had me pay court fees and get "supervision" for 6 months.

The judge did; however, know his father and went to law school with him. So that worked out. But this guy is pretty awesome, works out of Oak Park. PM me if you want his info.
