Oil Spill or actually Oil Gusher

Since I always come here for the best and brightest minds in the area I thought I'd ask a question that has been bothering me lately.

How long will it take this oil gusher to poison enough of the sea to permanantly deplete the earth of ocean going life? Can it happen? If so, what then? Are we already fucked?

Have a nice day.

No, it could never happen.

You could point load the ocean with every drop of oil on the planet...

drill baby drill. I like how BP blaims Transocean and Transocean passes it down to Halliburton. Nobody is responsible I guess. I hope they figure out a way to stop the gushing very soon.

I wonder how much pressure that oil hole is that its getting forced out eventhough the ocean is putting a lot of pressure on that well.

And they figure out the cause for the explosion yet?

problem i see is the well is so deep, they have to use those robots to do anything, and that really lowers the ideas on a way to stop it.

I would put a big ass hose and hose clamp it and just do that while they drill a 2nd pipe. And have that oil go into a ship.

I know you're joking, but, this was actually suggested. Seriously. They even named "Dawn" by name!

Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

We need to have a nuke detonation over the leak to weld it shut and burn off all the oil nearby. Extreme measures for extreme situations. Notify the world organizations and governments and let it rip. Git-r-done.

BTW, if one doesn't do it, three or four probably will. Hell, we have over 5000 of em'. At least that's what Obama told the world.
