I made parts for the F-35, you don't want none of that

And we've had harrier jets since the 70's you could have at least shown a vid of the weapon systems

Holy shitballs. I think LM just replaced the F-16 as my favorite F-class jet out there. Awesome.

But can the F-35 take on 5 F-16's and take them all out without being physically seen by any pilot? The 22 can and has done it.

yeah, but too bad the F22 is losing 50% of BFM fights against the old F16 using the aim9x with the helmet mount targeting system.

There is also a very good chance that the F35 will never see operational service. It's very close to being canceled. The cost just keeps going up.

I thought it was created as an alternative to the ridiculously expensive F-22. Also, there's a large international demand for the aircraft as well. Additionally, I don't see any alternative vehicle to succeed and keep our fighter planes at the cutting edge. Doubt it will be canceled. Then again, you're the pilot.

I don't think they have plans to have anything replace them per se...even if they're canceled. Was watching a program on Nat Geo or History, and they were saying that the current X plane (test plane) is the last model X plane to ever be flown by a pilot, and that all future X planes will be remote controlled.

Seems to me that's a clear indication that the technology is getting to the point where it's being developed to eventually replace the pilot, sooner than later. I know we have remote planes now, but they're talking full on remote fighter planes. Also stated that most likely, the very last real fighter pilots have already been born.

Thanks for the pics btw...sweet.

That's the problem. The price is skyrocketing, and the international partners that are sharing the development cost are dropping out of the program due to the climbing cost. As they pull out the cost goes even higher. The reality was the the F35 was most likely the last manned fighter, but it might not make it.

Like zero detection. Boom, you're dead and you didn't know there was another plane in the sky. Don't quote me on this, but i'm pretty sure the F-22 is one of the top stealth planes we have. IMO, it's the best of the best, but it costs a half a bajillion to make them.

both the F22 and F35 have a lower RCS than the B2

F35 program will never be canceled. production may be reduced, but there is already way too much sunk cost to pull the plug.

its a f22 with the harrier ability. IMO maybe a few new things but the same in general

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Don't be too sure of that. My info comes from a Navy O6 who runs part of the JSF program. They are very close to being canceled.

Figured I'd bring this back, just to point out the F35 is doing quite well, and has not yet been cancelled As a matter of fact, I'm fixing to do some flying with them in the next couple of weeks.

For those that don't know, the harrier fighter jet can NOT do a continuous hover. It has a water filled cooling system that only allows it to hover I believe for a max of 2-3 minutes. If the new fighter are done correctly, it can sustain limitless hover mode.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

If anybody is looking for some cool shit to watch on Netflix, The Battle of the X Planes chronicles the competition between Lockheed and Boeing to build the JSF. A little over a decade old, but still pretty cool

Kind of hard to refuel them while they are hovering, I'm guessing the fuel will limit it

Unless you refuel it with another hovering aircraft. Bam! We just need a KC-135 capable of S/VTOL
