Chicago cop shot dead over motorcycle

A chicago police officer, that just got back from serving in Iraq. Bought a brand new motorcycle and he was visiting his dad with it. Three guys pull up in a nissan attempting to steal the bike. fight breaks out, and the police officer gets shot, and the father who is an ex chicago cop pulls out his gun from his house. Nails two of the fawkers. One died. One is in the hospital. Other douchebag got away but they found the car.

This is a tragedy. This young man survived two tours in Iraq, and came home and got murdered on the streets in front of his house that he grew up in," said Ald. Lyle, who has known the officer and his family for years. "In front of his father, it's just unbelieveable.
That's the line in the story that really got to me. This is horrible.

I don't want to turn a RIP thread into a CCW debate, but I do agree.

RIP to a man who put his life on the line in the name of this Country, and served the public as a Law Enforcement Officer. My hat off to you sir.

Nor did I mean it to go that way Eric. This man served for his community and our country, and he lost his life because some POS people wanted to steal from him. You have idea how mad this makes me. God bless him and his family.

+1 Simply because we can all relate to the possible fear of this happening to one of us... even for us girl riders. Im angered and fearful.

Magnified anger for the service he has provided to our city and our country.

Let the man hunt begin for any suspect outstanding.... they better hope the legal system finds them before the rider community does.
