Please watch 4 stolen 03 ZX636

Please keep an eye out for my stolen bike:

The bike is a mint condition black 2003 Kawasaki Ninja ZX636
The Vin is JKBZXJB113A019076.
The license plate is IL "GUN DE".

The motorcycle was stolen early Sunday, May 16th (my freakin b-day).
It was covered with a beige cover.
The motorcycle is stock but for the aftermarket tail piece.

If you think you see it, please call the cops.

Thank you.

Tried to post an image, but don't have enough posts yet.

Stolen 03 ZX636 Update

Here is an update on my stolen bike. Folks have been asking, so here you go…

I would love to hear what you guys think.

Timeline:
16 May The motorcycle is stolen sometime after 2:00 am from our Palatine apartment parking lot.

17 May I post a photo of the motorcycle on Craigslist with some info.

18 May An informant recognizes the motorcycle on an acquaintance’s Facebook page (Fredrick Bell), because of the Craigslist photo, and visits the Palatine Police Department. The detective in the office doesn’t help. The detective refuses to use a computer to view the Facebook page. The informant takes out his iPhone to show the detective the Facebook page and the craigslist page. The informant then gives the detective the thief’s name, email address, and phone number. He even gives the detective a photo of the thief. The detective tells the informant to come back the following day, because the detective assigned to the case, Det Sherry, was out on vacation.

19 May The informant visits the Palatine Police Department and Det Sherry is still out on vacation – and they let the informant leave without following up.

21 May Detective Sherry returns from his vacation and calls me. He tells me that, “They might have a lead.” And, “They might have an idea of what area of Chicago the bike might be in” and he instructs me to continue posting, “Because someone else might come forward with more information.”

21 May I post more messages on the web.

21 May Fredrick Bell’s friend, Mike, posts a note on Fred’s Facebook page reading, “Fred, call me asap, Mike.” Fred’s photos of my motorcycle that were posted on his Facebook disappear and Fred’s Facebook page goes to private.

6 June The informant contacts me to follow up to find out what happened and tells me this incredible story.

The thief’s info:Name: Fredrick Bell
Aka: Kawboy. Apparently, Fred thinks he’s one of the village people.
Email Address: [email protected]
Mobile Phone: 773-701-8884

Attached is a screenshot of Fred’s Facebook page that shows my motorcycle in Fred’s garage, and a photo of Fred (I included photos with the original email).

I suppose to be fair to the Palatine Police, if they didn’t have their heads shoved so far up their own butts, they might have been able to retrieve my bike. It’s a wonder they can even walk…

Does anyone know any Chicago COPS? The COPS in Palatine are absolutely, without a doubt as useless as, or as stupid as, they come.

This does not surprise me one bit. I had a very similar situation with the same result. I know a bunch of smart, hard working, intelligent, polite, law abiding, concerned, and attentive police people, but most IMO are not. Typical attitude, is that if you have insurance, why do you care, and if you don't, it's your own fault. Either way you shouldn't care that someone cuffed your crap according to them. It's ridiculous, to the point it almost got me arrested when voicing my opinions about it to the NPD. Hope you get your bike back man.

I am just astounded by this. Especially since he did all the leg work for them and located the vehicle. Id be pounding on the mayors door.

Sometime I'll have to spend a few minutes and write about my meeting with the mayor and chief of police. You'll see how far that went.

Especially alarming since he brought the info 2 days after the theft. WTF? The cops obviously really dont give two shits about stolen property they have dangerous criminals to worry about especially in the cesspool of a city called Palatine.

Try the sheriff dept or state police. Maybe a call to the DA could help light a fire under them.

It's simply amazing the sheer laziness of local police depts. They will jump all over potential speeders, or potential dui's or women calling friends saying they r being harassed, but when it comes to actual CRIME, they don't do shit.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Already did. Apparently, during April '10 and May '10, there were 20 sportbikes stolen from the NW suburbs. The only news org to pick it up was the local burb paper.

No love out there anymore.

How about go to the guys house. You see the bike. You call the cops, tell them where you're at, yell that you're getting robbed, and hang up. The cops come with their lights on, and you point them in the right direction.

Sure they might be a little upset that you "lied"...but really, you didn't. Not sure if you'd get in trouble for that...but why didn't you do that?
