Hillbllies are stupid and Dear Leader is the smartest most eloquent man ever. Do not disparage him with these bitter clingers and their silly ideas that they did not learn at Harvard.

In other news, Obama is taking his 2nd vacation since the spill started, his EPA has ordered BP to stop using the dispersants they have, and Federal regulators won't approve permits for Louisiana to build barrier islands to protect their coastline.

All hail Dear Leader, most merciful and wise.

It only helps with surface oil, which from what I understand is a small amount of the total oil.

Wouldn't this be "BP-0 Rednecks-1"? Correct me if I'm wrong but the president didn't run the rig, own the rig, pump the oil, set fire to the rig, nor is working to stop the leak.

Chunk is right, the majority of the oil isn't on the surface. Check the news reports, Ian. There are huge oil plumes under the ocean. This type of thing is new, so scientists aren't sure what to do about them.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Mr. Obama needs to take some evasive action because so far BP has been unsuccessful in capping the leak.

+1.
Then again I am sure BP want to sell the products that can be used to clean it up. I say that BP is forced to pay American farmers for the straw! Just make sure the cows still get fed, I like my steaks

They are saying that the use of dispersants is causing the oil to break up into very fine drops, which don't float to the surface as quickly.

So you'd rather the GOVERNMENT try to do this very tricky, highly technical procedure than private industry? Granted they've failed so far, but do you think the government could have done a better job, or thought of better fixes?

I always thought the conservative mantra was less government/government stay out of private business.

The only part the government can play, is to ask for the private sector to share advise and expertise, to bring an end to this.

Heh...dude I voted for Obama. I was at Grant park during election night.
Regardless -- The government has more resources than BP to handle this situation. They have more man power, more intellects (private+government) and better logistics.
