Anyone heard of team stradal from joliet?

I got a certified letter today with my bikes vin# and they are claiming they are going to repo then auction my bike.Funny thing its been paid for for over a year. Then a mexican (not being racist, just giving description) shows up at the house claiming to be with Joliet wrecker. No paperwork and my credit union has no lein on bike and has never dealt with these people.Appears its a scam of some sort. The police are involved now.Team stradal address on paperwork and phone number but cert letter came from po box in skokie.I am 1.5 hours from joliet.Anyone hear anything I would appreciate any info. Thanks

Already googled them and looked at website w/the local police. The phone number is the same, but street address different, same road but not same road #. Credit Union and police are looking into, we all have left messages at number listed as well. Unbelievable.

The letter said to give up your bike. You did this, right?

I would have told him to hold on, Ill get the keys to it, then called the police and have them straighten the whole thing out.

NO, I did not give him my bike. I told him I was going to get the cops, he hung around a while and then left. He was in a flatbed truck. Did not get lic. no., I was so mad, and wasn't thinking straight. I screwed up there, but too late now. By the time the cops showed up, he left.

That is what I am thinking, they are using somebody's elses name and info, etc. I called the number on their website, which is the same as on the letter, and left a message. I hope to hear back from them, to let them know as well that someone is using their name in a scam. If you can let them know that someone is using their name and number please do and ask them to contact me, or the police who are in the process of contacting them as well. The number just goes to a voice mail. Thanks for any help in advance.

Team Stradal at this point does not appear to be involved and are doing all they can to help. There has been some kind of title work mix up with a bike they have.On going now I guess.

since the letter was sent throught the postal system go to the post office and talk to the postmaster. since they used the postal system it now turns into a federal investagation.

I had a friend do this to some one that screwed him on a Ebay deal and when the FBI gets involved it gets settled real fast.

it's not the fall that kills you, it's that sudden stop

Went to postal service. They said so much fraud it will be a while and refered to a website to put all the info in.Which I did.
Anyway Team Stradal was very helpful today seems they have a title with my vin but a bike with a different vin but they are the same model bike so some confusion there but we have that figured out.Stillthey have no idea nor do I how this wrecker guy got my info then showed up the same day this letter did. That still has me a bit nervous. So hopefully this is all over.

How the hell do they have a title with your VIN if you have the title? Did you buy your bike from them initially?

They probably searched the vin and got your plate / address from the DMV.

So someone else had a loan on the same vin number by accident, registration search
came back to you so they came to collect the bike.

Could the Team Stradal thing on the paperwork be the folks that had the loan ?

More often that not when filling out title paperwork at the DMV you are handwriting your vin number. people make mistakes all the time, and we know the people at the DMV entering the data into the computer from the handwritten forms are clearly Mensa candidates so I'm not to surprised this kind of stuff happens. Glad you didn't give him the bike.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

The title for my Jeep came back with my name and address spelled completely wrong. They turned my Irish name into something that sounded like Arabic . Idiots. It saved me from having to pay about $600 worth of parking tickets though because they never linked that name to me .

CBR#32 you better not let that bike out of your sight for a while, never know when towtruck man might come back and snag it.
