Is It Just Me Or Is CLSB...

Becoming very Cliquish and snobby?

I see a lot of posts these days from people who just go off on another for not fitting into their exact way of thinking - Not referencing any particular thread or post but have seen a trend forming over the past year or so

I love how there are many types of riders on here any many are trying to spread the love of their style to others - Wink and the Crew with Road Race - Me and the Lads from SuperMoto - The Dirt Merchants who invite all to come rip & roost - The F4T Groups for Sport Touring - Dirt Merchants turned Ice Shredders come Winter - Stunters & 50 Love too - All and all, many a group to fit any style - BUT, I am also seeing many who slam newbs who might show an interest but might not be 150% committed off the bat to drop everything and follow the word - What happened here? - This board use to not be that way

Are we becoming that much of a gixxer dot com?

We were all newbie wet behind the ear fucks at one time too

Peace & Love and all that hippie shit I love so much, aside - Be Excellent to One Another fuck-o's - We all love to ride - Some just have varying degrees of it

Now.....fuck off

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

Re: Is It Just Me Or Is CLSB...

i hear you bug. but i think it is more about some new folks being a bit cocky rather than the old members being less inviting. clsb is the biggest collection of personalities and misfits. we don't judge. on another note cslb has always been a place where mature safe riders gather. the gixxer.com crowd mentality doesn't fly well here which is fine with me. the "change" could also be that clsb members are getting older and more mature, who knows.

On the serious, I hated telling Justin that I was out - It is the end of Q2 and I cannot take time off PLUS I committed to a family reunion thing in July back in Cali (Pismo Beach) that has me away for a week - Our last trip when i was atop the Superduke was the most fun i have had on two wheels aside from SuperMoto Racing & Trackdays

well. im still a newbie here so cant speak for your past history and so also have not really earned the right to voice my opinion just yet. but when i can say is that i came here for community (why else would anyone join?) and i have found that and am extremely grateful to all of you for this but i know what thread triggered this for you bug. i have found friends on here and am so grateful and glad for that. i just figured that with any group there are cliques and i cannot control that. i do my best to steer clear of gossip and also try to follow the golden rule of not saying something unless i am saying something nice about someone. it does seem to me (as a newbie once again) that any community will continue to survive and thrive and grow based greatly on how it treats and welcomes its new members. everyone was a newbie as you say at one point in time. i guess sometimes there is a fine line between camaraderie, voicing opinions and political/social correctness. thanks for starting this thotful thread.

ya its not the first time, threads like this happen every few years. nice thing is they tend to bring everyone together, make newbs feel more comfortable, and shine the light on up and coming leaders in the community.

oh and dave13 is still a toolbox for that thread.

Dave & Mandy are aces in my book (well, at least Mandy) and they know I would do anything for them - Like drop ass in the back of the ambo that is carting him off and then take 10 mins to muster the courage to call Mandy and explain what just happened to her voicemail

Plus, they both know when I fall flat on my face dead broke, I am knocking on their door with my tooth brush and (8) pair of True Religion Jeans and running to the couch while shouting DIBS
