New Mortal Kombat movie

Holy shit does it ever look gritty. I knew I was in for it when it opens with a harlequin baby. Not super safe for work cause of violence.

That was an odd trailer...it was mostly talk, and a really long fight scene. Not typical of a movie trailer.

My friends at Midway named a move after me. I could beat all but the final boss using nothing but the block button.
Man I miss that game. I still want an upright for the house.

clearly they're nowhere near final edit of the movie, probably have hardly filmed shit yet and they're just trying to drum up interest.

Yeah, that's probably true.

And WTF is with killing Cage! Maybe that just to ensure that JVCD never gets a role in the new franchise!

If I were to hazard a guess, maybe its to keep him out of most of the movie. It seems pretty hardcore (eating heads and all), and haveing an action hero in the tourney seems a bit lame.

Complete stab in the dark though.

But Johnny Cage *is* an action Hero that joined the tourney (according to the arcade game BIO). Boon and Tobias at Midway had JCVD in mind when they made Cage.

I know, just seems out of place now that the characters are so much more hardcore and terrifying than they ever were in the original game. See how they explain it as he's a secret agent or something now? Waning action star doesn't fit quite right into a tournament of serial killers and assassins.

And like I said, complete stab in the dark. I am almost certainly wrong.

Explain. You can't inflict damage with the block button. Unless you are talking about Kano's knife throw.

Two of my friends have cabinets in their homes with the ROM boards for MK, MK2, MK3, and UMK3. I also hacked the UMK3 (rev 1) machine in my college dorm one year and played free for a few months before they figured it out.

Scorpion air throw.

I'm so fast with it, I can jump at the computer opponent, and throw them before they can get an attack off. Doesn't work on the last guy, because he doesn't jump.

My Screen name back then was Fever (long story related to Johnny Cage how I got that name), and the game testers at Midway called it a "Feve-toss". I'm severely out of practice, but if someone were to point me to a cabinet, I'd be happy to show you. (after many, many warm up games)

Back in the day, right where DGY is in fact, was an arcade I worked at (Right next to Rose Records and a Porn Shop). Midway used that as a test location for MK and KI and I think some of the shooter games that I really didn't care for.

Isn't it too soon to have a MK remake? I thought Hollywood usually lets 20 years pass before remaking a movie. Yay for originality.

Alright smartass, I use the Blockbutton, and the joystick. And notice I said "I have a move named after me". So yes, it would be considered a move.

Now find me an MK2 machine, Nao!
