Need Chicago traffic lawyer

Sat night I was involved in a fender-bender with CPD cruiser, ended up with 2 tickets - illegal U-turn and crossing double yellow. A friend of mine got same tickets - he was in the car in front of me and I was following him, looking for the parking at 18 W block at Chicago ave. Insurance will take care of fender bender, but I need to take care of the tickets.

we got a court date, but need to reschedule as both of us are out of town. The court is Daley center, I live in NW burbs and don't venture to the city much, so don't have any hookups for city lawyers

any recommendations?

well, technically I still did the illegal U-turn. So I am at fault. They were behind me, they should get the ticket for following too closely as well, but I did not press it at the scene, as I spent almost 2 hours on the street, half of this time in the back of the cruiser, having listened to my rights

On what grounds did they arrest you? That sounds like bullshit.

they didn't arrest me, but since the police property was involved, they conducted a questioning on the spot in the car, with all the officialese including reading rights to me and having me sign that I heard them

LOL

So lets get this right your friend and you do a uturn in front of a cop going the opposite way and he hit you right?

If that's the case your right your at fault and any time your involved in a crash with a city vehicle from any where tickets are issued its policy.

or was it this way your friend then you with cpd behind you when you out of no where stopped and whipped the uturn at which point they hit you?

Was this stop and go traffic? and how close would you say they were im curious as half the time they are drive slower the dog shit when not responding to a call especially on chicago ave of all places.

Oh well props for manning up and admitting your at fault and once again it never seems to amaze me how even when the police are right the ignorance of some shine.

Because, there are 2 tickets for the same offense and as a lawyer just told me, he will be able to dismiss one of them, since there is no u-turn possible without crossing double yellow and because I want to play it safe, as I had a ticket in March for improper lane change (totally bogus by an nagry cope first day I rode this year) that I took the school and supervision. I don't want to rely on judge being in a good mood, and since police property was involved, I know that CPD will be there to go after me to nail me to a max, so they can get insurance to pay without a doubt

for all the righteous asses here, STFU!

If the cop was not following me too closely and hit me from the back, I would not even get pulled over for my "offense" - that's per the same cop's words. Do you always obey speed limits, drive defensively and never break the traffic law? I don't think so, so again, if you have no lawyer to recommend, STFU and go back to your business.

Thanks.

Relax! Don't get all bitter. You posted this in an open forum. You know there is a traffic violation related forum on here too.

If you just slowed or stopped and got hit then it would be his fault for hitting you. But you slowed and then made an illeagal manuver so now you are at fault.

I came here to drink some beer and kick some ass. And it looks like we are all out of beer.

Since there was a CPD unit involved in the "Accident", who came out and wrote it up? Who issued the tickets? If it was not Cook Co. or ISP, you have some wiggle room here. The PD that had officers involved can't perform the accident investigation, another agency must do so..... that is unless you waived that?

The latter. This one looks like a tough one to get out of. Moral support never hurts.
I'll ask my brothers if they know good traffic lawyers; they had a fair share of tickets.
