I kept telling my coworkers about it. One keeps insisting it'll dissipate by the time it gets here. Yeah, whatever.

Just great! I rode to work today, leave from Waukegan in 10 minutes, and I'll be on the road for about 45 minutes. So, do I roast in the rain suit, or just wait until I get soaked and then put it on? :

Suit up - this is going to be a bitch of a storm. Hell, you may just want to hole up and ride after.

I would wait, but I've got to get to the dive shop and then we're going out to set a platform underwater for the student divers coming out tomorrow.

Had the tornado sirens going off out here in Marengo...and yeah this is fast moving, I would not suggest riding in it. It will be all over/ past Chicago in an hour. Likely best to wait and just drive in the rain. Its better then in the downpour, 18mph sustained wind, 30mph+ gusts, lightning, and possible tornadoes.

Watching it roll into the Loop right now.

The "lighter" rain has already started. Feel bad for the folks who are on those boat tours, going up and down the Chicago River... they're getting screwed.
