Good to see its not only sportbikers who are a-holes

So i'm rolling down the hwy on my way to work this morning, i'm in the left lane doing 80-85mph, traffic is light. there is a group of cars in front of me, but i'm happy with my pace so i just chill in the left lane, there are a few other cars on the road too, all doing the same pace. I see in my rear view the bright lights of a Harley bagger coming in the lane behind me. He eventually gets up behind me. I'm still in the left lane, car in front of me about 2 seconds ahead, and a car to my right, so i am unable to move over. right two lanes are wide open. All of traffic is doing 80-85. So the Harley sits behind me for maybe all of 10 seconds, then all of a sudden he comes past me IN MY LANE! I was on the right side of the lane and be comes by me on my left. WTF?!? so I hit the gas, move over into the middle lane to get up next to this a-hole. give him the finger. he then yells at me for driving too slow, I was doing 80mph!! then he cuts in front of me and tries to take off. whats the top speed of a full bagger? 100? so i easily catch back up to him, making sure to be in the lane next to him, i give him the finger one more time and continue back on my way, keeping the 80mph pace.

Seriously. People who ride can't even give any respect to fellow riders? i bet you any money if i did that to him he would be like "fucking sportbikers"

Not that you did anything wrong but I always move over for bikes just because I know how it feels to be stuck behind a car. Even if I have to speed up or slow down to get over I make a very deliberate attempt to move over for bikes.

i was totally going to do that, but this fucker could not even wait. I was blocked in by cars and had no place to move out of the way, other than hammering the throttle and lane splitting.

Easy and peacefull solution to this

Step 1: Buy and install Stupidly Loud exhaust
Step 2: Blow pass harley with bike high in RPM (preferably 2-3K before redline)
Step 2A: If you wish to piss D-Bag off more Lift front wheel in air and give the finger
Step 3: Continue on your merry way laughing in your helmet

By the way this also works for Cars as well, tested it a couple days ago

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

i dont see how its respectfully when you dont know the person, how they ride, etc. plus as you are riding and you have no "out" if shit goes down, you might need that other half of the lane.

what if the car next to me started to move over soon as this guy was passing me? where would i go? instinct would tell me to move into the rest of my open lane. i would have to let the car hit me, cause some asshole i dont even know is in my lane.

If that was the case you should have schooled that fucker. I guess thats where a big 1000cc bike comes in handy for situations like that. Just clutch the fucker and take off past him on the back wheel.

LOL - some guy on a cruiser was cutting in and out of traffic with us on a group ride, but not following etiquette and being really unpredictable and passing us etc. I had enough of that - I stood it up passed him and did a lane change on one wheel. He fell back and showed some fukin respect then.

Grumpy was laughing so hard I could see his helmet bobbing in my rearview mirror.

ya.. i laughed when he tried to run from me on a open stretch of road. i looked over and gave the "wtf?" shoulder shrug as he had his bike topped out and i'm just putting along not even in 6th gear.

BTW HD guys always seem to try and "race" me and my pals when sport touring on the freeways. Best thing is to just not pay attention and continue on your own comfortable pace. They are the ones who look like idiots "tucking in" to reduce drag on their cruisers

What I would consider respectfully is being seen by me, being able to help set up, and making the pass at 5-10 mph faster. From what you describe, he made the pass like a jackass.

I also understand your point about losing space to move to in an emergency situation, but a pass shouldn't take more than a few seconds. That combined with the fact that your bike is equipped with much better brakes and you have extensive track experience, I would think that the bagger would really become a non issue in the slight chance that someone happened during that 5 second pass.
