hotmail timestamp

I'm trying to buy some shit and trying to figure out if the seller is legit. I received an email from the seller sometime between 4 am and 9am this morning. However, the timestamp on her reply is 12.55 pm. What's up with that?

another country or timezone - is it in the detailed header as a timestamp from another server, or your server?

Also, there is no way to tell if a seller is "legit" from an email timestamp from a free mail service

If they use gmail, are they more "legit"?

you judgment... Well, an email from three time zones away when they are supposed to be in Plainfield/Oswego area would be a red flag no?

How do I get the detailed header from a hotmail email?

Some where in you mail software there is a view setting to "view detailed headers" , but like I say there really isnt much info other than possibly seeing it coming through a foreign server.

My hotmail has never had the right time stamp on incoming or outgoing mail. It's an annoyance, but I never thought there was anything I could do about it.

Come to think of it, I have noticed that in the past too. Just never paid attention to it until now.

When you're buying a bride from Russia expect the seller to have a different time zone.

The Time Zone is the location of the server. My personal email is hosted in the UK, so all timestamps are in GMT for my server, even though I'm in Chicago. That said, the Internet (and computers in general) work on GMT +/- an offset for local time zone, so you should see times corrected for your time zone in your simple headers.
