Any Military Recuriters on the board?
So figured id post up and ask because i dont feel like walking into a office
Long story short a few months ago i was trying to get into the military and got the run around by both the army and navy (draging me along because of my slim to none chance of getting waivers). Was curious if anyone on the board is a recuriter, ive given up on trying to get in just want to talk someone to see if they can figure out for me what happend, as in if my paper work was ever submitted.
If your a recuriter, let me know ill shoot you a pm or something and give you the story
Thanks
John

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

WTF is going on here, since when do you have to beg to get into the military?
Dood you must be pretty [email protected] up!
Tell us what you need waivers for.

John, I think they have that don't as don't tell policy now a days so it shouldn't be that hard, especially the Navy.

Medical issues from the past, Example, Childhood astma, and Zoloft. even with letters from doctors, and my history falling in the grey area militay standards i got yanked around.
Navy was what i was going for, long story short recuriter sent files, said meps didnt give waivers and sent papers to Beaumed, called recuriter 2 months later and recuriters partner said.....o he said he told you 2 months ago that they were wavierable. with my response being O really because last i heard we were waiting on a final answer and havent heard back since.
As i said ive given up trying, just curiousity makes me want to know what really happend

Tnat, Havent been on anti-depressants for over 5 years with no issues, never should of been on them in the first place (crack doctor who shouldnt of been a psyc). Miltiary states must be off for over 2 years with no side affects
Not trying to argue just trying to clear things up, hence why im not typing out the whole story dont feel like people aruging against or for me, just curious as to what really went on and want to clear things up a bit. So hopefully we can keep this to if theres any recuriters or not
Thanks

you could talk to marcus (bluebusa07) about the process, but he's not a recruiter.

Thanks Kblack, at this rate that might be my best shot to clear things up if theres no recuriters.

The military doesnt care if you got your shit cleaned up from mistakes or shit from 20 years ago. It sucks.
You could always be a real man and join the french foreign Legion!
Just tell em (Mepps Shrink) that everyone your age has some kind of identity crisis and experiments with swallowing pringles cans and gettin the banana in the tail pipe for a few years then has guilt, shame and remorse feelings about it then gets on Zoloft for a short time to help them cope with those images stuck in their heads and feelings of multiple men painting your face.
Its ok man, we still care about you - theres always a spot on CLSB for guys like you!

former military
The problem is, with the current economy, recruiters are turning away people. Their job is to meet quotas, when they meet or exceed them for the month, quarter, they wont process you in but will keep a pool of recruits on standby for the next quota. If they are having a slow month and do not have bodies they bust their ass to get you to boot camp. But like I said, with people losing their jobs the military is a good option for most now. Money for school, medical and dental benefits for the member and his or her family, housing, and more. The other problem is all the medical information you gave them, and your history. You have to meet certain standards, so the best thing to do is not admit to anything, no prior medical injuries, no drug use, the only thing they pull is background checks. There is also no such thing as being un-waverable, anything can be wavered, past drug use, past injuries, past criminal history, age, its just on whether the recruiter wants to bother with the paperwork and work with the officer in charge to get it approved. And like previously stated, they are turning people away, and do not need to bother with recruits who would require more work to bring in. Your best bet may be to try and find a recruiting station as far from the city as possible, in a small town where its slim pickings for the recruiters.

finish school if you can
Also, I do not know your personal situation, but if possible, finish school first. Apply for grants, take out loans, whatever you have to do. If you have a desire to serve in the military do it as an officer. A college degree will make you a lot more money in any branch, and your quality of life will be greater for you as well. There are also federal loan forgiveness programs if you become an officer, meaning if you pay for school with federal student loans and join the military, your loans will be forgiven(don't have to pay them back). Like I said, I do not know your situation, but it is important to know as much information before you make a four year commitment. If you need money for school, the Illinois National guard pays 100% tuition to any state funded school. That's any community college and schools like Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, University of Illinois, and many more. While in the guard you will be obligated to drill one weekend a month, and two weeks in the summer, giving you the time to attend school for free right now. The problem is guardsmen can be activated and are deployable. Sorry if I am ranting, just trying to get you some important info.

they'll take anybody. shit, they took my ass!
and don't be a pansy and pick some MOS where you are in the rear with the gear. be part of a combat unit like infantry or artillery. otherwise, stick with the navy and air force.

Lol, marines dont take anyone, they were my first choice. PDQ from them they were by far my first choice, gave up until a customer told me to keep pushing (happend to be a recuriter for naval special warfare) which ended in the good ol run around

Not only was I in the AF, but also a gunner on a CH-53 ...sometimes the service isnt dependent on how country club like it is..I did have a great quality of life at home station. The whole 2.5 years out of 8 I was there.

The military is very hard to join right now. Waiting lists are up to a year long and the criteria to join is very strict, at least for the Marines. I sent you a pm back.
