Looking for some basic motorcycle work/help/track prep in Oak Park

Anyone interested?
I have a friend who needs some help on his new track bike.

Needs track bodywork mounted, tires changed (I have a tire changer if he can get the wheels off and brought to the city) gas tank changed.. Not sure what else

The bike was supposed to be pretty much track ready, but I guess it's not. I haven't been out there to see it yet.

PM me if you're interested. He has limited tools and no trailer

thanks
Greg

my buddy bought it for his first track bike ... pretty much against my advice (i recommended an SV or a 600)
then said the tank was dented.. I said "no biggie, lots of track people buy dented tanks to use at the track" he bought a new one anyway.

He also bought all new bodywork (unsure of brand and not sure if he has fasteners)

I would imagine the tires need to be replaced, I had him grab a set of pilots from STG for a good price.. Like I said we have the nomar in the city (about 15 miles or so from his place) but he hasn't been able to get the wheels off. He said he needs a torque wrench to pull them, I said he just needs a longer handled wrench. hmm.

I would love for him to get out to blackhawk next weekend. He said he would pay for some help.. Perhaps with help this could happen.

I'd love to be his mechanic, but with my life and skills.. really that doesn't work

oh boy... that bike is a heavy pig for a track bike

why swap the tank at all for the first day

ive never mounted bodywork but it doesnt look terribly hard adn from what it sounds like its not a high quality set from how he goes about things so i wouldnt expect holes to all line up

bodywork cant be all that hard ive seen the vidoes
does he have stands?

if no one else chimes in, im semi interested

I don't have a when - I'd have to talk with him.
The goal was for him to do one day this year... I am booked 9/4 and 9/5 at Blackhawk with NESBA - So I invited him to come along with us.

I will ping him about brand of bodywork

I agree he shouldn't change the tank, but I am not sure how bad it is.. Perhaps it was totally smashed, I don't know.. if it's just cosmetic or only slightly affects how much gas it can hold I think he should leave it.. That said, it's not my call.

Tell him to ditch that pig (although awesome bike) and buy this. It's much better suited for learning track, and it's easy on tires.
