move to new orleans area?

Anybody ever live in the area? Spend much time there? An opportunity has presented itself through work and I'm curious how people feel about the area. Cost of living? Riding? People? Stuff to do besides drink?

Whatever you know or howevee you feel about the area, let me know. I would rather hear it here than read about it in an online article.

Too humid, too hot. Something about a flooding problem, but I'm sure they got that all worked out.

Very nearly went to Tulane for law school. Probably should have in retrospect.
Visited a few times visiting the school and then looking for a house, because I was 90% sure I was going. This was just a few months post Katrina too. There are some great restaurants, and a lot of character in that town. People seemed really nice, had that thick genteel southern hospitality vibe.

but it is VERY hot and humid, and some parts were really fucking shitty when I was there.

Riding looked to be mostly straightline stuff, not much different than IL. Only one track in the area called No Problem Raceway. They only do occasional moto track events. Next closet track is in TX, I think. The relative lack of riding is one of the primary reasons I didn't end up down that way.

I'm afraid that's going to be the next Detroit unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong...there is a lot of history there, though much of it was lost during the flooding, or simply moved.

Brother lived there prior to Katrina (Kenner, LA). We grew up in S. Florida and he constantly said that the Nawlins area humidity was leaps and bounds worse than S. Florida's... and lots of people all on their own slow pace of life... LA is short for Louisiana and it also stands for LAzy.

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....

probably a nice place to visit, but not to live. Especially it being under sea level.

Nothing wrong with southern states, but not too fond of that area, and dealing with the college kids every year.

Here was my reaction the day I left there when helping during katrina

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

I helped in Mississippi, but never got to n.o. most everybody complains about the heat and the slow pace, neither of which are ideal for me, so I'll just take it one step at a time and see what happens.
