Closeout boots?

Chances are you'll never find Sidi at that price. You may be able to find some old Oxtar's around that price tho. Although finding them in 11 might be difficult as it was probably one of the first sizes to sell out when they went on closeout

The older Oxtars suck.

Get the new branded product from Kevin at Safety First Racing.

why?
I have a pair and luckily I have never tested them out.. but they seem really well put together.
from what I understand the only reason they were pulled was due to being sued by alpinestars for a patent violation (also why they were renamed)
before that I recall them reviewing very well in all of the magazines (and i was reading euro rags not american "if they advertise with us they ROCK!" american rags.

I doubt he will still be able to find the deal.. but.. something i should know about my boots?
I know a few of the guys I ride with are wearing them too. They seem about 10x as safe as the dainese full pro's that I have been wearing lately

Are you looking for a full race boot or street riding boots? You can get doha's for that price. Have you talked to Chicago performance?

Yep, those are the ones. The velcro became fuzzy and useless after about 4 weekends. The sole separated from the side of the boot. Those are the quality issues. It was a legal and branding issue that caused them to change names.

I didn't like that the zipper only went half way up. The ankle support doesn't seem very solid. They ever felt like they were on good and could not come off. They were pretty much old and used up in about half a season. Granted, my half is a season is a lot of time.

The mid level Sidi Vertebra's were my first boot. I used them for 3 years. The inner liner is completely worn out but the boot is still solid. The ankle support system is far superior to the Oxtars. Other then just being worn out to nothing, they were great. I still keep them around for a rain / backup boot.

The new Oxtars seem to be much better built. I spoke to reps from Oxtar at the Indy dealer show. The boot is better designed and the quality looks better. I'd love to get a pair to test out. I would definitely give the new line a try.

If you want proven quality thats second to none, get the Sidi's.

I'm looking for street riding boots. Thanks for the links Greg, I'll give them a look. Not looking for Sidi's at that price specifically, just wanted to convey the style of boot I'm looking for.

Are the Sidi Fusion's worth any salt?

I LOVED my Oxtars. I had to put 20,000 miles on mine without any complaints whatsoever. ...they were noisy, but other than that were very comfortable and functioned flawlessly for me for close to 5 years.

BTW, I just bought a pair of Vertigo Airs for $180. They're sold out now, but keep an eye on www.newenough.com . Deals are out there

Here's a review on them...

I've got no experience with them specifically, but it's tough to go wrong with Sidi.

Love my Oxtars...look like crap and are starting to crack at a few places, but they have 4+ years of 100% street use on them. Will most likely buy a new pair next year (now TCX).

Why do you keep saying that? I absolutely LOVED mine and would buy another pair in a New York minute.

I just tried to find that link too, looks like they sold out. I saw those boots right after I bought my Sidis...wish those were available at $150 before I bought the Vertigos...I would have bought the TCX over them in a second.
