Deli Markets near Aurora/Naperville??

I've lived out here for 3+ years and still haven't found a good quality (and cheap) deli out here. I'm still hitting up Amici's in Downers Grove whenever I'm over towards my parents' house.

Any recommendations??????

Tom

That's getting closer Arch...I know Nature's Best, but Amici's blows everything out of the water out that way, IMO.

Anything further south? Don't people down here shop at Delis!?

I really like them for meats... but have never tried their deli. I buy steaks, chicken, chops, brats, etc from them regularly. Their prices on fresh meats are good, but I seem to think their deli might be a bit higher priced. What kind of things are you looking for? I could see what they have this weekend when I go shopping if you'd like.

+1. I have ordered Christmas and Thanksgiving meats from Tischler's for the last several years. They are a fantastic butcher shop but I haven't taken advantage of their deli selections yet...

Sweet, yeah I typically get Chicken breast, steaks, chops, sausage on the meat side, and always get cheeses and deli meats. I know right off hand what I'm used to paying at Amici's so I'd know where they are price wise pretty quick.

Caputo's is PACKED and their prices are kinda high...in comparison to the smaller delis at least. I like paying $1.99 for a pound of American and $3 for Salami

No really a "deli" but the Great AMerican Bagle on 59 just south of 88 is a good choice in the area. Beats Wendy's in the same strip mall that's for sure.

Their center cut chops are $4.99/lb and delicious; Sausages are mostly like $3.30/lb or so. Steak varies a lot as they sell various qualities of cuts. I most often buy just choice grade top sirloin at $6.99/lb which is really tasty. Much better than most supermarket steaks. Prime grade or better cuts are more of course. I think the chicken was a bit high, but is very good. I just don't remember the price right now.

Have you tried Michael's Fresh Market on 59?

Awesome, fresh, reasonably priced, 'exotic' produce deli/meat selections. Don't get soda or any of your other groceries there, though, the prices on that stuff is killer.

I haven't yet, but maybe I'll have a look there too. Of course, I'm used to paying less than $5 for pretty much everything / lb in the sliced deli area.

Mike I'll definitely check Tischler's out too.

Do a google search for a polish deli aurora and you will get a bunch of hits. Try them all. Typically they have tasty products and haven't seen a place that is priced for less.

Maybe "polish" was the key, because I searched "deli" every which way on google.

Still not much in my neck of the woods though? There might be one on the way home off Weber south of 55 though, that could work.

I go to caputos all the time, all sorts of good stuff there especially for the deli. If your looking for butcher action tishlers is the place to be. There's also a new deli/Italian store over on route 7 just west of Farrell road.

Stepanos or stefellis or something like that. I had an awesome Italian sub there the other day.

It's on the north side of the street 2 blocks west of Farrell in the strip mall across from the car wash. There's also an enterprise rent a car in there. Good stuff mang!

Deli Markets near Aurora/Naperville??

Caputos has a kiosk you can order from and then pick it up. They always have sales on meats.

If you have a produce world out there they are good too.

I saw that place in my search, is that a real deli (like a market) or is it a fast food type joint? I'm looking for deli meats and cheeses.

Haha, you travel too for the good stuff!

Have you tried Amici's in Downers Grove/Westmont? (the boundary is right there)

It's at 63rd Street and Fairview, across from Kinder Kare.
