Alien - Blu-Ray Box Set in October?

I was worried they would fuck this up (lots of Blu-Ray transfers are done half-assed unfortunately), but these screen shots make me want to buy the movie (again):

It's like having to buy the star wars prequels in order to get the originals. All we need is Alien and Aliens. Here is hoping they get offered individually at some point like they did with the Matrix!

Honestly, I stared at the forum options wondering if I should put it in Home Improvement with our theater threads, or Geek Squad since it's probably just going to be us gear geeks reading this....

Don't buy the new one and wait for the ultra-special-super-duper-3D-BJ edition to be released.

I totally forgot all about this. The only two Blu-Rays I've bought all year was the LOTR Extended box I got for my birthday from Brianne, and the Incredibles . Nothing has really made me feel like I have to run out and buy it.

Unfortunately I bought the $109 box set just before the individual movies came out. I was a little irritated!! lol. I only wanted 1 and 2. I like 4 right up until the end when it gets a little too stupid. I've watched 2 A LOT. Watching it on Blu Ray I was amazed at how much detail I missed in previous VHS and DVD copies. Good buy...

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

I wasn't sure if it was worth me getting since I've seen II on Laserdisc about a hundred times, and I'm sure on TV a few times, and on DVD a few times. But your description sounds exactly like what I was hoping for.

I just want Aliens really, Alien is a great film but its not as rewatchable as it's more suspense and less action.

Best part about this is the cut scene in the original Alien where Ripley goes back to shut off the auto destruct and leaves the cat. On her way to do this there is a cut scene where she encounters Dallas hanging from a wall in alien goo with eggs surrounding him. It's the best foreshadowing for Aliens even though it doesn't fit 100% in with the queen storyline.

Talk about hopelessness. No idea why that scene was cut but I think it's in the Director's Cut or laser disk edition.
