Attempt to steal bike from Deals Gap store

From another forum:

Well...........heres my tale of the day. Went up early with the intent of just hanging on the porch all day knowing it would be next to impossible to ride the hill. Got there just after the cager crash occured, got in a nice clean pass. settled in on the porch after a bite to eat. Met R1er and saw Dwayne and Patrick. MG , Jeff, Mark (and his better half) and Gap Trash joined us for an afternoon of "Festivities" and "Pirate watching". After the crew broke up, Justin and I were sitting on the porch when I saw something unusual to say the least. My bike was parked where it always is right next to the porch directly in front of the doors to the store. I saw someone putting on gloves right over my seat. thay looked a lot like mine ! I stood up and there was a young guy wearing my chest protector , jacket and gloves !!!! I went staright to the bike as he was getting on it. I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing and, he told me that "The owner had told him he could take it for a ride" Well my first instinct was to beat the S**T out of him but, he looked very young and age and wisdon got the better of me. I pulled his sorry ass off my bike took his ID from him and sat him down on the bench. The girls in the store called the Sherrif's dept for me and sveral of the guys standing close by heard what was going on and helped me keep the little thief there until Grahm Co SO arrived. Long story short, he admitted to the officer that he was stealing my bike and after about 2 hours he was on his way to jail cuffed and stuffed !!! I've always left my key in the bike and my gear on it as well up there, it's always been an honor thing amongst bikers there. But today that little ass stole some of the magic of the hill from me. I'll never leave my stuff unattended again. Anyway, Thanks to the guys that assisted me whoever you are, to Brad for helping me out as well and to the LE officers from Grahm and Swain counties for talikng that asshole to jail !!!

Actually didn't get taken to jail because they didn't turn the key and make the attempt to ride away on it. But many pictures were taken of them by Killboy, etc and pictures were taken of them while they were being detained. The car is a G35 in silver with Illinois plate and a "T"ennessee plate on the front. Probably out of state students. Here is their picture.

First of all, leaving a key in the ignition is just plain stupid.

But stealing a bike from Deal's Gap has got to the be the height of stupidity and balls.

jeebus.... good you had your eyes on the bike when you did.

yeah i know its just one big riding family up at the gap and everybody takes care of each other, but i would never leave my keys in the ignition.

anyways, please post more pics of the jacknuts. like elroy said, if they're from illinois, maybe we'll run into them... preferably when we're driving our cages and they're standing in front of us.

Correct. If it was my friends bike. These two would have had a nice Kimber placed between the eyes.

Consider that you can ROLL the bike on down the 'gap for miles nullifies the whole 'no key turned=no theft.' concept.

i think u shoulda took his ID, then slapped him like he was a misbehaved prostitute.. open hand, left side first, then backhand to the right side. kinda like how Jon Voight's character in Anaconda slapped the English dude after Owen Wilson got eaten..

The front plate isn't a Tennesse license plate, it's a University of Tennesse 'T' decorative plate.
