Directv, so awesome.

I decided to give Directv a try. I figured in California I wouldn't have reception issues, It's cheaper than comcrap, and I wanted to make sure I could watch Michigan state, cubs, and the bears. I love it. I highly recommend ditching comcast and trying it out.

So you are using your Chicago address for service location? (To get CSN Chicago & WCIU for Cubs, and WBBM for Bears?)

No brainer! Directv is by far the best service out there.

I almost never lose signal, it has to be a horrific storm for me to lose signal. Your mileage may vary.

+1 must be a HUGE storm. and then it's only for a few minutes.

if a storm takes out cable, which happens often, with lightening hits to poles, power outages and spikes taking out inline power supplies, cars and trucks hitting poles or backhoes cutting aline, cable can be out for hours.

Maybe close to tornado strength winds but your average storm around here wont affect it. The only time mine goes out is when its raining so hard that you cant even drive in it safely and visibility is about nothing.
